James Baggott 227 Posted October 7, 2014 Hi all. Got this email from an old friend. I'm unsure what the answer is. Sure you guys will know... Just a quick enquiry: my mate here at Wiley has just phoned a bike dealer in Worthing about buying a new bike. He was planned to shoot over and test drive it only to be told that due to the new tax disc situation they were not allowing ANY bike road tests. They would not even let him ride on their property for fear of the bike being damaged and thus uninsured… Have you chaps come across this potential banana skin yet? Or has this dealer got it all wrong?
c_cars 56 Posted October 7, 2014 Havent heard of any trade plate issues with the new tax system and we are still allowing car test drives on our existing plates, can't really see how its affected.. Not sure if there are any different legal implications with bikes though, maybe the bike dealer doesn't have plates and relies on his stock having tax? James Baggott 227 Posted October 8, 2014 Maybe that's it. No trade plates...

Wheelerdealer1 91 Posted October 14, 2014 How would you even attach a trade plate to a bike ?
metcars 397 Posted October 30, 2014 How would you even attach a trade plate to a bike ? Just thought I'd mention that I spotted a bike on the M25 with a trade plate stuck on the back
