Sold many cars unseen but customers have collected from me , delivered quiet a few but don't make a habit or promote delivery,  everyone thrilled and never had any issues- ranging from 3 - 6 year old cars, this is becasue we're doiing it on a smaller scale and more personal to us smaller dealers, we take pride in what we're selling, but to scale it up to the volumes they need thats a different story, unless they are going to try just the late used market ( which is no guarantee but better than maybe older cars

Haven't seen a Jam Jar advert for a long time.

I too have sold and bought many cars unseen - it is the exception though, not the rule IMO

It should be no different to buying anything else online EXCEPT sharks swim in our waters and cars are just about the most faulty, complicated consumer products in the world with 100’s of variables!

Not to mention scratches or minor marks - you have to see the car... good luck!

Exactly my thoughts! Buying a used car is a bit different to buying a brand new kettle....

Which is why this hasn't worked.

I have just about recovered, my head still hurts. The funniest part was I thought i'd got a hot lead as had a missed call from an unknown number, went outside to call it back without realising that only 10 minutes before i'd been speaking to James and he'd drop called my phone so we had each others numbers.... I think the 2 bottles of Pinot had already taken effect.....however the good sport that he is owned up straight away rather than pulling my leg.

Also my Partner Steph got highly commended in Rising Star Award too. Great night had and was nice to put faces to names. and well done to to you guys for getting shortlisted, its a big achievement and I still feel way out of my depth at things like this.

Well done Matt, that's a great achievement and well deserved!!

  4. Very quiet month here, managed to scrape a couple more deals at the end of the month, with one paid and gone on the last day which was a bonus!

The only good thing about a quiet period, is there is usually a purple patch just around the corner....

Chin up everyone, we'll all be running around like headless chickens soon and moaning we're desperate for stock!! :D

Long ago,I went to BCA Peterborough or ADT or whatever a few times. There was these 2 farmers who bought all the best stock. It made no sense what they were paying for stuff.I recall asking a local what was going on.Apparently they sold from their farm and had a great business selling stuff at rediculous low prices.I was told people had to pay an entry fee at the farm gate to view the stock. No idea whether it was true.

Probably true, people can be quite persuasive when they're holding a shotgun...!

Yeah, and advertise 2010 low mileage diesel Passat estates at £1750 & reap the rewards. I’d then be more than happy to listen to the shit the greedy punters spew out of their mouths.

    Would you take £1650?! :P:ph34r:

Business plans make me laugh .

How can you put a business plan together when the cost of each car is so variable , return price of said cars is so variable depending on how much each car needs spending on it to make it saleable.

Then even if one car sold quick it doesn't mean another will sell at the same price or same speed as the last one .

Chances are you cant even repeat the same purchase after selling the said car ,

Turnover is only any good if your rolling on the floor laughing

only one thing is important when you work for yourself

    PROFIT got it .

Its all about what you MAKE , NOT what you take .

Bad for dealers that don't use eBay or Gumtree presently. That package costs around £400 pcm for 25ish vehicles.

Similar Motors package costs less than £100.

What they will probably do is amalgamate all three platforms into one package which will cost approx 1/3 to one-half of the AT cost so will not be cheap.

If you currently use eBay and Gumtree and also Motors it should make no difference.

Probably ok at the moment while you've got a contract with EMP but would imagine a pretty big price hike come renewal time....
