I've always avoided them like the plague but took a nice 3.0 in chop a few months ago and it romped away. I've been buying them ever since and they seem to be good news but looks like they need to be with nice miles. I bought a 2010 3.0 with just over 100k on it and we haven't opened the door on it despite it being a good colour and spec. I bought a 2008 2.5 with low miles and it sold instantly for strong money. Have had a few issues with a couple of them but everything seems to have issues these days, just my observations

They don't look like they were photographed by private sellers. Were the sellers traders?

It was a rubbish June for us, worst month of the year. This month has been better, certainly not flying. Currently on 14 for the month with stock currently hovering around the 25 mark. We should have 30 but finding it so hard to buy.

world cup and heat wave trade - dead?

No, just another one, Once the people know what the final deal is which they had no clue about 2 years ago. Leavers are quick to point out how important the will of the people is and that's fine. Lets see what the will of the people is now. This won't go down too well but I will say it anyway. If you voted leave, you were mugged off by Boris and Nigel etc.You were told a pack of lies and promised things that could never be achieved. -
We switched a earlier this year from Dragon to Auto Sales. Its a bit clunky compared to Dragon and not quite as polished but it's 1/3 the price for us and they are excellent people to deal with unlike the good folk at Dragon Their pricing depends on the number of units you add to stock but for us it normally comes to £40+ vat per month

I usually cover the plates with them but you don't have to. I can't believe a copper is going to pull you for doing that. You were very unlucky to get nicked for putting them in the window

The ones on those listings are terrible. I bought a set but have never used them as they are horrible sharp things that will cut your fingers and scratch your cars. We bought the suction cup type and have been using them successfully for the last 3 or 4 years without problems https://www.tagster.co.uk/product/suction-activated-trade-plate-holders/

Probably to the local Vauxhall main dealer to pick up a crappy Corsa on a lease deal. -
We do OK with them, at least a couple every month and we are on the premium package which did givesus full contact details including a phone number. However, we got an email from last week giving us some bullshit about how they are no longer making it compulsory for the punter to enter a phone number. Something about improving the experience for the customer. So now we are just getting the crappy "I am interested in your car" leads with just an email address. I could get that with their fee package. I will be cancelling

I have been with HSBC for 21 years and to be fair they have been pretty good with no real dramas, however earlier this year I had to go through their online "safeguard" procedure where we had to supply lots of detailed information about the company. Absolute nightmare which took about 3 months. They are going through some major shit with this at the moment all due to some fine thay have taken in the US for laundering mexican drug money apparently. Just google it if you want some absolute horror stories about people having their accounts closed without warning. I think I have got it sorted now but I am going to open an account elsewhere as a fall back. My accountant recommended Metro Bank. He said he's hearing lots of good things about them

Customer wants to return the car in a week time
Autolink100 replied to Car Nation's topic in General Dealer Chat
Personally I wouldn't be having it back unless its got something seriously wrong with it, its 12 years old FFS. As others have said, get the thing in a workshop and see whats wrong with it before offering a refund. -
Was that their new price or what you were paying originally. We only stock around 30 but they originally said we wouldn't be capped if we wanted to put more on. I'm not sure how their bandings work

So I just had a conversation with our account manager at Cargurus. Our contract is up at the end of the month and surprise surprise they want more money. I'm currently paying £275 a month for their standard package and he tells me it should be going up to £580!! but because I'm a loyal customer blah blah blah he thinks he can get it down to £380. Its obviously a game of negotiation with them so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this conversation with them yet and where you wound up. What is everyone else paying at the moment?. I stock around 30 cars but when I signed up the deal was that I would not be capped within reason. I know I've sold a few cars from there and I think it looks good value at what I'm currently paying but as I expected it looks like they are getting greedy just like AT

Autolink100 replied to Autolink100's topic in General Dealer Chat
I replied to him and kept it calm and factual but he re wrote his review after that and laid it on even thicker. I had him on the phone this morning ranting at me. I have had cargurus on the phone this afternoon to inform me he's trying to leave a review on there but they weren't happy with it's content and blocked him. It's clear that he's a man on a mission but fuck him -

Not for one minute would I bother sending a solicitors letter to google, as if they would give a shit. I think Andy was talking about a letter to the punter. Something strongly worded threatening action although you would never take it. I think quite a few punters would bottle it and take the review down, maybe not but worth a shot -

Andy, I have always wondered if that is an option. What does it cost these days to get a strongly worded solicitors letter written making threats of court action that you would probably never take but hopefully put the wind up them enough to take the review down. Sounds like you have been there ? -
So today we get yet another negative review on google from someone else who has never bought a car from us. This one from a bufoon who had us hold a £16K vehicle for him for two weeks before telling us he couldn't go ahead as he couldn't get finance. Predictably he then asks for his deposit back. Now I shouldn't really be surprised the idiot left the review in this day and age and frankly I'm reaching the point where I just don't care any more but in his review he stated that We stole from him I am dishonest We are liars Now none of those things are true but could they be considered libellous or improper and have grounds to be removed. I know some of you will say I should have just rolled over and given him his money but I've got be honest, I just can't do it, I just can't let these people dictate to me, after 31 years in the trade where I have always called the shots with the punters, I just can't let them walk all over me. I fucking hate these morons. Sorry, needed to get it off my chest

You might be. I stopped taking Credit cards a long time ago after a fellow trader recounted a tale of woe about how he was checking his bank statement one day to find that £4000 had been debited from his account without his knowledge, After a bit of digging around he realised it was his card handler and it was a "chargeback". After speaking to said card handler he was informed that it was because a customer who bought a Vectra from him several months previously had raised a complaint about the car. He never made any complaint to my dealer friend whatsoever, just went straight to the card company and got his money back in full. The Vectra was still sitting outside his house. I'm pretty sure the card handlers are not going to give you a heads up, they are just going to grab the money before you know the score for obvious reasons, as is their right. Section 75 gives the punter enormous protection and puts us at enormous risk so definitely not for me. They still get this protection when dealing with finance companies but with finance companies you are going to hear about the problem first and I don't think they have the power to dip into your account without authorisation which your card handler does

LOL, No, I won't sack him, he's a good guy actually. maybe just a stern talking to. I think he's got the message now. LOL, No, I won't sack him, he's a good guy actually. maybe just a stern talking to. I think he's got the message now.

Thanks for the input . Sounds like a minefield. I think a call to the main dealer might be in order.

Does anyone know anything about this. I have been asked to take one in but I don't know anything about them. Are they leased or something similar and how would I go about finding out Cheers
