I prefer to screw them on tbh as ive seen number plates on the forecourt in the past especially in the winter where the double sided tape has given up.

The 1.5 Ecoboost is the revised engine not heard anything bad about these.

Yes on Peugeot for example you sometimes need to inflate over 38psi then drive it for min of 10 minutes above 30mph to trigger the TPMS system to recognise the tyres are inflated. You sometimes also need a "wand" to wave over the valves to trigger them but this is when you fit new valves and sensors to the wheel. You may need to plug it in to a proper fiat diagnostics to see why it wont reset.

Just now, CRW said:I agree with you on the Ford, Toyota and Honda's although the only Peugeots and Citroens I touch are the 107 and C1's.To be fair though, Im beginning to group the Fords in with Germans, with their Ecoboost junk engines and the chronic powershift gearbox.
Yes apart from the 1.0 ecoboom and powershit dont touch these and you'll be fine.

43 minutes ago, CRW said:To be fair I have pretty much stopped looking at German cars. There's the big question marks over the VAG TDI's that have had an emission recall, are they as reliable afterwards or has it been updated then become unreliable so the owner has ditched it?. That eliminates about all TDi VAG cars from 2010-2014 as Im not going to risk buying somebody elses trouble. I personally think buying a used BMW is potentially more risky than VAG cars, swirl flaps, chains etc but that's just my opinion.
Agreed, the modern BMW's are garbage timing chains, rear diff bearings, turbos, the 4 cylinder petrol engine craps itself. German cars used to be way made reliable old cars but not now. VAG are nearly as bad with crap petrol engines. The only brands I like are Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Toyota and Honda dont get much trouble with these.

Do you check for *in trade" first?

I once saw a 3 Series where someone had wired the the eml light to the battery light to make it all look normal on start up.
Whiclt it's out, check the connections and definitely the earths.
Yes sounds like a bad earth, I had a renault which made other lights come on i.e indicator made the abs light up, foglight made service light come on, the pcb board on the cluster was knackered.

sounds like a cluster fault

It usually does

Then I had a "I might buy, or I might view and come again with my mate to double check it" viewing. I asked him to arrange with his mate and they can check the car together and save the back and forth.
Neither party called to arrange another day, so I've lost those potential sales, and I know it's my fault.
Neither of those are your fault, if someone really wants a car they will come another day, as those did not come back they probably wouldn't of bought any way
This week has been good for us in a strange up and down month.

Do they sell though with the bad rep they have now?
-
Doubt it! Used cars are in strong demand it is a bit quieter at the moment but the country is abit upside down with this brexit rubbish, having said that the auctions rung me today to know if I was attending this week so perhaps they are quiet? Rarely go to the block now.

No but it would just add an extra owner just tax is using V62 at post office when you sell it.

I couldn’t imagine dropping AT, they attract the best quality customers.
AT are the pinnacle, it’s the first port of call for the educated quality buyer.
The quality of leads from FB are moronic in comparison. eBay bubble had burst and the others Autovulva etc etc are a waste of time.
As long ad AT attract the billies I’ll keep paying them.

Diesel now are a no for us as the new emissions charges come in to Leeds January 2020 and other parts of the country so we have started to buy a few hybrids and to be honest they are having the most interest but not cheap stock as lots of dealers are doing the same
Not even euro 6 diesel which are ulez compliant?

Some car seats have two cables under the cloth, Clio for example, one tilts the other does the slide motion.
OP didnt state if it moves normally
Take the seat out and have a look on the bench

I hate main dealers with a passion they look down their noses at used car dealers like we are all gypos. I seldom buy anything on there tbh I'd rather pay abit more from BCA.
