I’m wondering why he’s dealing with a third party - some bloke on email when he’s sold it to a woman.

I’d politely answer back along the lines of saying I cannot deal with third parties therefore please ask the purchaser to contact us directly. I respectfully advise you that no further correspondence with you will be entered into.

at the small claims court the judge upheld that the partner had financed the sale so did have legal precedence

    just saying don't shoot me

Does he want to hand it back? If he is happy to keep it Would it not be better to negotiate a reasonable discount say £250 (prob cost of having it fitted) and offer to give him the cost of the handle part or supply him a door handle if he pays the labour locally to get it fitted as doesn’t want to bring it back to you to fit it

it's not about the door handle though is it

    it's blackmail to get£500 back

the part broken is £5 on ebay

this car is a very wanted commodity and I'm sure could be resold to a more understanding customer

I would just go up on Sunday with a mate do a cash transfer if that's how they bought it and let them have the hassle of finding another one in their budget

I wouldn't be making reductions in the first month though, that's a big no no

(currently sat in a p/xer outside my house no other cars here and the thing has a flat battery...... boo his)

  3. excellent article today in the dealer news

I've just sold a car with a current 8 months mot, my policy is although it's been serviced a proper full inspection and a 15 mile drive all signed off it still won't be delivered until an independent mot garage has given it a new mot

    can cazoo do that?

no they don't, if it has 6 months mot that's all you get

    Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I popped in and said hello, so wanted to drop you all a line.

Anything interesting out there we should be covering on Car Dealer website? Anything we're missing or not doing enough of?

Would love to hear your thoughts on what you'd like to read more of.

    James

I think the news briefs are very good

11 months?  I wouldn’t even entertain them. Tell ‘em to take you to court.

This is quite true if you had been paid in conkers but in this case we are dealing with another party in the middle and the old adage do I need them more than they need me is always my first thought,

before firing both barrels and shooting myself in both kneecaps:wacko:

I thought maybe I’d missed a trick. But a crusty 18yr old diesel focus estate! £1,000 at the hammer plus fees? It was sold at £500? There were at least two bidders who thought it was a bargain?

    Yikes!

Might have had a tank of diesel that's worth £500:D

found a direct message to me on my phone December 11th thanking me for fixing the car the car first time round .

Take a screen shot print it off

Write down everything you can remember a n d back it up with dates and times

Put all copies of all paperwork in o n e file dedicated to this car

    Keep us updated

    Are you a lawgistics member?

  10. Lawgistics recommend 45 p per mile but this is only a starting point (dated 5 years ago)

As you have accepted the car back I would assume you have negotiated a fair price for both parties?

Get it all in writing and get it all signed off

So many if buts here it might still be wise taking legal advice

    seen fords $60.000 over list

if its needed for work and no alternative then what can you do

i wouldnt use anybody in the future who took advantage to that extreme though

ok overheads still need to be met but not just by the chosen few the manufacturers should be helping if they cant get stock

saying all that there has been a lot of stimulus money over there and a lot of fraud, its interesting reading

  13. Tried watching the video even tried skipping bits,he would have failed to make a purchase from me,I once gave a customer a phone number and told them my car wasn't to the standard they aspired but the supplied number well may be able to help them,it was the nearest main ford dealer but I never told them that (pre Internet so they couldn't duck duck:D)

  14. Offered a customer his money back today and he was worried how he would get to work, I offered him an old sit up and beg bike we have somewhere on site

It floored him actually because he thought we were going to fob him off but I reckon I can sell it for more if I refund

    Strange times
