  1. Hahaha! Reliable cars eh? Not sure I want them back, unless it's for a px.
  2. What platforms if you don't mind? Crazy how expensive AutoTrader is in comparison to the rest. I'm only on the PAYG package (3 weeks for £69?). How long do you get on the proper package?
  3. What's the deal with silver being unpopular? I was afraid the PCP might crop up on these. EPV, will be redoing photos asap, to help it along. But it's priced £500 below anyone else for the age and miles, and cheaper than most CATs. Any lower and I'm worried that it'll look shady. There's a tidy profit in the car which I don't want to lose (rare that you get a sound car with a good profit) but I also don't want to sit on it for ages. Can't have it all though!
  4. £1700 a month?! For how many cars?
  5. Despite seeing tons of them on the road, and them being our easiest sell a couple of years ago, 10 days and no queries and very few views on a 14 plate low(ish) mileage, very well priced silver SXi. I know 10 days is nothing, but we've had more interest in less popular cars. Has something changed the past 2 years?
  6. Tradex, got a letter through saying that the court fee hadn't been paid and the case has been struck out, and the court date vacated. A nice bit of good news, as I was dreading opening the letter! Thanks for the advice though!

  8. This is going back a couple of years. Even so, it wasn't down to prep. I hate wasting my time even more than I jate wasting the customer's time. So if a viewing is arranged, the customer is aware of any issues with the condition. Cars are cleaned up, T Cut done, cleaned and shined inside. However my time's been wasted most by the "we're viewing a few cars today" brigade. Not saying I'm perfect, but I know what prep I do for viewings, and I've been left clueless as to what they've seen wrong with the car. I've sold a fair few cars, and can confidently say those 1-2 occasions were not my fault. They however, are still rude for not at least knocking the door.
  9. We were winding it down at the beginning of the year and closed the company. Decided to give it another go though since April and will stay as a partnership for a few months to see how it goes. Interesting though how it only costs £12 and our accountant charged us £300...
  10. Tradex, we were up until a couple of months ago. Company has now officially been struck off, but we have a court case coming up with a proper screamer (wouldn't negotiate AT ALL) for a car. We sold as a Ltd company. He's taking us to court even after we repaired the car, claiming he had to fix other problems, and despite us offering £400 towards his £530 "extra expenses" Invoice was from Ltd company name, not our personal names. Maybe we don't have a problem after all.
  11. I see...that's pretty interesting. And useful to know.
  12. No I mean when they turn up and I'm still inside the house, I give them a minute to ring the bell, and then realise they've left just based on the exterior of the car.
  13. What does a LTD company have to do with screamers?
  14. "I'll definitely let you know if anything changes"....how many times have I heard that? I've even had people turn up, look the car over and and leave without having the decency to knock the door and tell me they're not interested.
  15. "This month" as in the first 12 days of July? Happy for you, Grant. Send some of that fairy dust my way. 2 sold. Lots of enquiries last week, no joy though. "Is the Fiesta/C30/etc available?" "Yes"....silence... Have a good holiday, Mark!
  16. On top two, off bottom two. Cars we've sold with tow bars, people have come specifically for the tow bar on the particular model.
  17. If it blows I've got an engine for you
  18. Matt, he said there's no power to the car whatsoever, no power to the dash, engine not turning over, nothing. Dead as a dodo. (Which is why I'm led to wonder if it's as simple as the alternator belt snapped and now the car's dead.) Anyway, despite there being no power at all electrical or otherwise, somehow he was able to give me the exact mileage while on the phone...I've got the call recorded, so...we'll see if I hear from him again.
  19. Completely by accident. My now business partner used to buy cars, fix them and keep them for 6 months. We were both between jobs and bought a Seat Ibiza together. Barely made our money back. I then bought an RX8 which was the first car I ever bought completely with no one's advice. Turns out it had a compression problem and wouldn't start warm (had to fuel up with engine running) Eventually got the hang of it and we're 5 years in. 3 very good years and last two have been terrible. Seems to be getting better now though, fingers crossed. Loved reading everyone's responses. Me with my 5 year story while some of you lot probably started when I was born!
  20. Lol first time I've gotten any praise in this forum. I'd love to help people out, and when people are happy with us, but not people like that.
  21. In all honesty I did. It's probably prejudice of me but if I hear "taxi" anywhere in the conversation then I'm going to be suspicious when they come back. He said his friend was saying HE'S a taxi driver and that it would be a good car for a taxi. I said that's not what I recall. He called me a cheat and a fucking bitch and a dog....so...there goes any guilt I had.
  22. Chief I wouldn't risk buying another these days not unless it was very cheap. Not a fan of them either, pretty things but they're toy cars in my opinion.
  23. Sold 2 Mitos both 2009/2010 plates, 1.3 JTD in red. Both barely any calls but the first buyer bought. Sold them both within a month for good profit. This is going back 2 years though, so not sure what the market is now.
