Now Cinch have reported a £149m loss. You have got to laugh, serves BCA right for copying Cazoo .Most of their best sources of stock is hedged at 95% of Cap and has been doing at least a grand over Cap.So with their additional huge buyers fees they must have been netting at least £1500 per entry through the block with no prep, comebacks or advertising .So those dickheads who thought they could do better per unit by retailing should get their P45.You cannot make it up.

As a group they still lost money, I think as the market is cooling and other dealer groups look at the conflict of interest by using BCA to remarket their units, they could be in for a very rocky ride.

Add to this the competition to buy units from Motorway etc and the WBAC models is under pressure.

I think with all the barmy laws we may be entering a period when dealers can’t sell anything much over 7 years? The problem is they have no money and expect to spend no money repair and servicing a 9 year old car?

    Thoughts?

  3. It's all very well looking to disrupt the market, but do your research first, it would have told you more than 80% of people want to see the car they are buying................

Failing to under customer needs have been the domain of manufacturers, particularly the prestige German ones, for years, the agency model is likely to be yet another one.

  4. You know the well used line that the definition of insanity it doing the same thing and expecting to a different result?

In context of Cazoo simply say post COVID the market has changed and we have to adopt a new business model which allows customers to see the car!

  5. If what I'm reading is true the arrogance of the manufacturers knows no bounds:

    https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/stellantis-chief-paul-willcox-speaks-out-after-car-dealers-reveal-firms-shocking-behaviour/276389

Sound like the level of arrogance normally reserved for the German premium manufacturers. For most of the last few decades Peugeot, Vauxhall and the like have had products that are hard to shift, at best. Now they have a few semi desirable products they behave like this, if true, customers will be all over this on the socials and who is in the firing line, the Dealers!

interesting,i use a chinese one i bought in covid times for £100 and i sit this in the car for no more than 20 minutes doors shut on the timer,i then leave for 10 minutes then open all the doors wide and it rakes a while for that beautiful smell of lightning to go

reason i mention it is when doing my homework it was suggested that too much ozone can break down wiring coverings in things like cars so dont over do it

    yes proper deep valet first

The jewelultra one does the same thing in around 10 mins for about £2 a shot I think, have run out so reminder to order somemore........

Just been reading the comments on the dealer who put all his ‘black stock’ in a row. I think it’s called ‘fronting up’. But, just wondering if anyone else has done that?

I think the fact your posting it here, means it works, have done similar in the past.

Car dealers generally don’t move their stock enough, having said that as most people search online it’s not so vital these days.

  10. Have Cazoo started a trend here as that I can recall we have:

    - Peter Vardy sponsoring the Scotish Rugby team, great marketing by them in this regard btw

    - Arnold Clark were one of the main sponsors for the Fury fight

    - AMT Auto are one of Leeds sponsors

    What are your thoughts Guy's

BCA has become a retail outfit , Not fit for purpose really is it . The auction system has changed at BCA .

Vendors are migrating their stock elsewhere as contracts end , they don't like BCA retail competition  . Used Covid to initiate change .

You have nailed it Mate, can't understand why any group would use them for remarketing. We used to use them 20 years ago, when I worked for a large group and they were terrible.
