  1. to concur, you must have the complete v5c to hand to the buyer

remember if he drives it to anglesey it must be on trade plates  or taxed as the cameras approaching the bridge are anpr, not sure about fishguard

it might not matter to your buyer about untaxed vehicles but dvla if you are down as in trade get shirty so make sure paperwork trail is impeccable as always

Might be double sided tape :o, if its what we use as tape you will need a hand grenade to remove it . :(

you mean you are pulling it and then all of a sudden it breaks free and you go back  4 foot before you fall on your arse

    no never done that:(

For some reason I've never understood, not declaring income to other employees is/was called a 'September Agreement'....?

    that rings a bell

    said the headmaster

it must be 30 degrees here hot hot hot

    car wash boss:)

    oh wrong programme

    • Haha 1

  4. when I used to work for a large plc we were always told not to declare our income to our compatriots

I realised early on this was so they could pay us peanuts

the insurance companies are the same they play on fear

    the bastards

this year my renewal was cheaper but I bought it just before lockdown and paid in full

    so I'm still the fool

I bought all the bimmer cables to try flash it onto the I drive but it’s a pig to work, can’t get to the bottom of it.

whilst i wouldnt know how to flash an update on a bm i can advise if this is what you are trying be very very careful because flashing involves updating everything so before you flash you take a copy of what you have first just in case so you can hopefully put everything back as it was if it all goes t*ts

the other most important thing is you must have a stable power supply whilst doing a flash ie a quality battery maintainer not something thats not smooth that was ok for old cars pre ecu

Seen this happen one to many times.

my builder, who was doing my extension knew I was in the motor trade, but didn’t utilise me (I was going to charge him a small sourcing fee).

Instead thought he’d cut the middle man out as he believed he had the experience.

Not only did he get shafted on fees, but also the car needed mechanical prep.

by the time he was done, it owed him near enough retail - but no 6 month warranty to claw back on.

    Serves him right!

    this

they used to do this to me after the event and ask me to wave a magic wand on it for them

i stopped doing this a long time ago

I could try that, yes we are both key workers, it's not reg to my business, my private Merc Collection don't go on business, but Mel runs a local small Supermarket, suppose I could say it's the Car she uses to commute and try that ;)

    Thanks, I hadn't thought of that ;)

I'll get to it when I've sorted out Selwyn Froggit's Kia which is in a million bits due to EGR failed and Black Death .................

Jeez, I got a load of deceased old crap in here right now, no wonder I'm getting depressed lol ;)

    how are the knats:D

Personally not offering test drives. Our insurance cost for unaccompanied was very high.

I am simply not comfortable with letting people loose in high power vehicles or nice well prepped cars alone.  The standard of driving ive seen before on accompanied test drives is  low, unknown roads, unknown car etc.   I feel the risk of theft is higher. I am aware I could go on a test drive accompanied and have a knife pulled out on me but I think the chances for someone not to return in an unaccompanied demo are quite high.  Plus crash damage aswell.

We will continue to offer the chance to buy the car and pay for it and then once paid for and on customers insurance they can do our normal test route before confirming they are happy. If they are instant money back.

Lack of test drives really hasn't been a deal breaker and most actual buyers are completely fine. I get the impression the ones hell bent on it want to drive a few others anyway.

Yep, during the C19 start of shutdown, like a twat I sent my SLK's V5 off to change the Engine cc and Engine # ..........

How fuckin stoopid was I, not heard a dickie bird, can't contact them, and now I want to use the bloody Car when the suns out I can't tax it unless I drive 120 mile round trip to main post office in Inverness and pay the fee to get a new V5, which will have the old Engine details / cc on it :(

Or I just leave the Trade Plates on it cos I'm still road testing it looking for that mysterious intermittent fault

To add to this, since March I bought an E Class Wagon for Mel, took the pp off her C Class, put it on the E Class when the V5 arrived, and both Cars are now all legit on the MOT and Tax and MID databases, so obviously buying and selling is deemed essential by DVLA, but lost V5 and changes to V5 is not :(

One day in the 22nd Century some form of normality may return, Covid spread will be returning in the next few weeks, judging by the number of twats who are now arriving in NW Highlands on a daily basis, despite them not supposed to actually be here ;) All the talk of politicians and police on the telly is absolute bollocks, they are policing fuck all :(

Bonkers, absolutely nuts the lot of it, UK officialdom couldn't organise a fuck in a brothel ;)

    hi dave

    you ARE a key worker

you are repairing dr kildares car at this moment and nurse gladys minor tomorrow

you can quite rightly go online in dvla website and fill the details in as the car is registered to your business?

no need to go to the private section for basic stuff like this

you need the car to collect bits etc

Great result! Who said "you won't get it removed ever"???

me because it took 3 months an assessor to say it shouldn't have the marker and then the insurance company had to notify the dvla

so it would appear it was an input error only at autotrader not an hpi error

    lucky

  13. obvious stuff

fire precautions, fire brigade best to have a site visit before you buy or sign

you need to make sure local highways are happy

bogs for her and him this covid stuff is a problem though due to cleaning

lots of balloons go down so you need a large area cordoned off to store them

you need a proper office, having an old cast off in the middle of the sales floor doesn't cut it anymore

the paint for the floor and walls is a fortune unless it's already immaculate

    security is paramount

be aware your insurance quote will make your eyes water

really good luck it's a great way to trade but they can be cold on a Jan morning
