That’s much appreciated pal thank you

i think that’s what i’ll have to do for now until i become a bit more reputable

i recently bought a trailer so that i don’t have to do double trips by train to collect the cars once bought. Problem with being a one man band!

unfortunately no website just yet, i’ve been selling through gumtree and and facebook marketplace, huge success from fb marketplace. But i guess location is key. Used to live near heathrow which has always been a great location for first time buyers.

problem now is the mrs wanted her own spcace so bought a flat in aylesbury, tried selling from there but honestly its like a ghost town everybody goes to main dealer and finances a deal which im too small for just now.

i do 45 miles to heathrow for a viewing and get no shows sometimes.. imagine!!

all part of the grind i guess.

i guess i really want to know is autotrader worth it for me selling £1500 £2500 cars and offering the full shabang service. Fb is great but out of 100 messages 2 are always genuine and the rest complete timewasters.

i want to sell to affluent buyers who know what they want and are prepared to spend, not corner cutters offering less money always

If you need a website try http://go6.co.uk/. Can do you a cheap website that's decent or a really expensive good looking one which you don't need. Regarding sourcing not many of us actually take p/xs of franchised dealers, we use the auctions mainly

Down load a V62 online and take to the post office , use that form to tax the car and apply for V5  , sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't , you may need the last keepers post code to make it work .

failing that working its snail mail and at worst 4 weeks and over the christmas holidays it may well take 4 weeks +

Monday it is time to head to the post office

  3. Is there anyway I can tax the car without the v5? or get the v5 quicker. As I want to either use the car or advertise it and get it gone rather than waiting 4 weeks for the v5?

    Thanks

    Hi

First of all congratulations regarding starting out in business young fella , well done .

Insurance is very difficult at your age , but get a parent to put it in their name with you as a named user to start with , did this with my son at 17

COVEA did us a good deal with him as a driver and me at the head of the policy when he started , limited him to 2.5 litre cars and only 600cc bikes till he was 19 , then we found better companies and we were off and running .

All the very best with the future of the new venture , its fun , its hard work , its a challenge at times , but anything is possible with the right frame of mind .

    Cheers

    David

believe it or not im 16 17 In a few months, I help my dad out with everything form sourcing, cleaning picturing etc

Hello all. I am 17 and want to trade cars. Is there any way that I can legally do this with insurance because it seems like all trade insurance policies are for 18+. Any ideas?

Put the trade insurance in your parents name?

Is a sticker in the service book or in the rear spare wheel compartment. Find a free website to decode the 3 and 4 symbol codes from the sticker.

    cheers pal

Double stock offer means time to play with Autotrader algorithms if you have spare space on AT

If I have unused slots I shall leave sold cars live but increase the price by say £500

If enough of us do it it should move the price markers

    Anyone else up for this?

    +1 100%

Normally relates to the first message that comes up on dash display.

within the I-Drive there is a menu, from memory - vehicle status, - check messages? and it tells you the fault but normally is low fuel range or screenwash.

Seems to have been low fuel or the key fob was low either one its gone now!

Never heard of anyone as unlucky as you with condition reports

Yes and no, I got a decent payout for the 1 series and the other car I got a little for some damages but not all so not too bad. Plus they were both fairly cheap to begin with
