I think we will have to speech to Autotrader about their offer or may be i am wrong please comment
Doesn't make a difference does it?

I need some advice as on this rare occasion I feel BCA are trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
Bought a vehicle from Walsall (Audi Q7) not assured. However went to collect the vehicle today and noticed the following
1) All tyres are flat / blatantly moved around with no air, so the metal rim has cut them all through - site managers response “they weren’t holding air, so we just moved it as is”.
2) The battery was completely dead, and no matter which jump / booster used it wouldn’t tick over - I told the site manager I’m no way taking it unless it fires up - as for all I know it’s a non runner? (On the pics it shows the car running)
His response back was “well there isn’t an assured report, so it’s sold as seen” however I’ve said to him I won’t take it unless I can hear it, or they should have sold it as a non runner?
Surely when buying online, we deserve some assurance regardless (it’s not like I bidded on it live in the hall?). I’m going on their description / disclosure.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve bought cars (some assured) in the past and not bothered them with petty repairs. But this one surely is taking the p*ss?
Your opinions on what would be the right point of action is welcomed
Thanks in advance
Im reporting them to trading standards with a few of my own issues please do the same the more reports the better

Can I ask for a bit of advice please. I sold a fiesta last week and delivered to the customer and was paid in cash. I was just called by her to say that all the dash lights are on the car (engine management, power steering, doors etc) and there is a smell of petrol and the car cuts out on her. She asked for a refund and I kind of agreed, as she wasn't interested in getting it repaired though I asked that she call me during the day tomorrow and bring it over. Questions I have are;
1. I believe she is entitled to a full refund but do I have the option of repairing it instead? I say this as it seems everything that could possibly go wrong has, it has full ford history and had no issues for the period of time I had it.
2. When I give her the refund how is the log book handled? It was a 1 owner car, I haven't notified dvla of a change of ownership yet (I'd read someone say they give it a week or so before doing so and thought it was a good idea). She has taxed it but I don't know if she sent off the new keeper slip. How would I resell the car?
Appreciate your time all, thanks
She is entitled to a full refund 100% as its only been a week.

Watched a Jag XF last week declared as engine noisy, eml on and gearbox fault. Capping clean without faults at £3700. It sold for £3750, madness.
Probably got bid up and went through the next day. Seen a mini go through 4 times every time the auctioneer said sold. Dogs!

22 hours ago, MarkTVS said:I’m the opposite, my workshop guys can have anything fixed on these within a few hours!
For me it is anything with the powershit gearbox from Ford or the majority of semi autos.
As a general rule we try to avoid french cars and petrol 4 cylinder BMW’s.
Subaru Impreza 2.5 turbos are also on the banned list. I love them to drive but the engines are chocolate!
We have a few guys who can fix it all, its the running around that does it for us, we could go buy a clean perfectly running vehicle and make the same margin

We have an old Pajero manual only one in the country bought it for a laugh lol

Sorry I’ve been quiet. It’s been rather busy in the car dealer world and it turns out it’s not as simple to fill the internet as it is a magazine every month...
Anyway, I’ve just been surfing the World Wide Web (I know, very dangerous) but it got me thinking (again, dangerous) about a feature on what used cars car dealers would avoid - so come on, hit me: what used car would you never ever buy and why?
My starter for 10 - a Land Rover Freelander. Not only pretty rubbish but unbelievably unreliable by all accounts. What’s yours?
Hope all well with you all too!
VXRs, head gaskets, gearboxes, seats, modified, exhaust, turbo, everything goes on these lol

They have strict money levels now to work too , have to phone a friend if its more money .
We have had a claim for a battery , £150 limit since the RAC took over .
Only because i caused a stir that we got the battery price paid for , well RAC man actually put a new one on .
Good luck
Cheers pal. Wont be RAC on this one they have there "ACE engineer coming over" just a gimmick lol. Hopefully get somewhere, sick and tired. Bought a leon cupra dsg sent it back and it did £700 more in the auction! but the fella who bought it will have a nice surprise with an all green assured report again, (car was misfiring, turbo was goosed and a new throttle body needed) there scammers if im honest.

Stopped using Manheim. To be fair any nearby auction centres are next day or 2/3 days max. Anything over 100 miles were waiting minimum 5 working days, newcastle - manchester was 10 day wait.

Yes or waiting upto 12 days for BCA to deliver lol

Try selling a Golf R (I’m sure others have had the same experience). You’ll get more messers, “cash tonight at 9pm” or low ballers, Drug Dealers, or Test Pilots, and last but not least thieves!! .... all coming your way.
We has an 2015 DSG GTD and it took a while, but the right buyer comes eventually.
Best of luck
Dont forget S3s.

I have a collection of mini scanners and old laptops with assorted diagnostic programs on them.
Was thinking of upgrading to a good machine that can cover most cars.
Any recommendations for something that covers most basics and doesnt need a degree to use ? I am leaning towards the Autel 808-908 range but theres a lot of choice.
I understand none of these replace my mechanic but are a handy tool to have in the shed, anyone got any experience ?
