  1. Just a thought but only dealers on twitter know about this forum and how 'social media' works. Still a lot of dealers out there just about getting a website never mind anything else, seeing that 'The car Dealer Magazine' is sent out to a lot of dealers , some who are not on social media /networks doing a survey with all the subscribers to find out what their thoughts are? Just an idea ? I Think it would be interesting to see why/what they think about social media/ good- bad? over to you CD Team!
  2. Stephen , responsive has to be the way, so many people viewing on phones, ipads etc , Just sorting mine out.. will send a link when its done ! In fact I'm doing a campaign and the new landing page is fully responsive .... I know working back wards but its a quick fix to test something out !
  3. Like most I use both and agree with other comments different audience , different people use them both differently. Then we have Google + and pinterest ..so difficult to try and keep up with them. I try to spend some time on the ones I think benefit most ..if you're not careful you spend all your time posting things and not actually selling cars
  4. DPF's are certainly an issue ,we've had a couple of cars where the car simply is not being used enough! I've advised numerous customers who have been in to buy a diesel and told them they shouldn't and explained the reasons. Once they understand they make the right decision that is not to buy a diesel for the 3/4000 miles - short journeys they do! think some sales staff have to TELL the customers what the consequences are rather than just sell them a car which is going to cause them issues in the future, not only that a very unhappy customer who will take his business else where!
  5. Like it or not twitter is here to stay , still lots of dealers not grasping it thinking its a waste of time/effort ! Simply look at the way we've ALL connected ' done business between ourselves and as for Jim to actually measure the £350,000 worth of business is 'awesome' ! Well done #TeamReid but as said you only get back what you sow. I'm still speechless to be in 5th place biting at the heels of the 'big boys' in front of me.! Thanks guys for the survey. .. I'm nearly famous
  6. The cherished plate fiasco is a nightmare ! not sure if saw my comments on http://twittercardealers.ning.com/ last week but I'd sent one off on the 3rd Sep, explained to the customer that these are taking 3-4 weeks, got him to pay for the car he was buying.... cut a long story short I'd chased DVLA with progress On the 24th I rang to be told IF it doesn't arrive by next Wednesday call us back !!! I also sent an email same day asking about progress. Email reply on 26th saying 'must be lost' will send new documents out ! on sat 28th Customer received New disc only, so picks the car up...... On Tuesday I get a envelope dated 28th will ALL the documents , the worry being all the documents inside are stamped 13th !! ALL This time sitting on someone's desk - Had I not chased it up when would I have got them back !! think its shocking !
  7. Twitter ! To me its an amazing 'place' or 'tool' met so many genuine people on here, life long friends , lots of other contacts not just in the motor trade, done business with so many new people both way we giving others business and visa versa.! May be I've seen the light , but wondering WHY Not many motor dealers have joined ? is it lack of understanding ? thinking its a total waste of time ? or simply can't be bothered ? just think how many of these dealers are missing out but not only that but we could do with their input into various topics as well to get a broader perspective.
  8. sadly giving all of us a bad name! I've only ever tried smart repairs a hand full of time EVEYTIME disaster , I stick to my body shop cots a bit more but proper job no issues and most of these cars come back in part exchange a few years on ! Saw a 'nearly new' car recently supplied by a main dealer - shocking 'smart' repair on such a new car felt so sorry for the poor customer who had just bought it !!
