bottom line is you "used" to be able get a v5 for a cat b, you can not now, as for quote "it’s been on the road ever since with no issues?" is because it is not the same vehicle.................

The car has had a private reg put on it within the last few months, how would dvla do this if the car isn’t meant to be on the road?

Been using BCA for multiple years. Manheims the same. Central car auctions haha. Has anyone got anyone else that offers the same format without the overpriced buyer fees?

    Thanks

In fairness if I did I wouldn’t be telling everyone as it would push the prices up :)

  3. Done a HPI earlier on a 2010 Range Rover Sport which according to HPI was a CAT B in 2010, it’s been on the road ever since with no issues? How is this possible? As far as I was aware a Cat b couldn’t be used on the road at all?

    Hi Mark,

I'm keen, I have 13-16 cars at any one time, 2k-24k, is it worth me approaching MotoNovo to fund, or shall I go direct to Alan/Codeweavers to sort?

I'm on with Close as well.

    Cheers,

I would just pay it yourself that way your not bound or buses towards a particular finance company, for all the cost is a month.

Pair of track rod ends, Exhaust heat shielding, Rear Brake Calliper, Disks and pads all round. Corrosion on rear sill. Petrol tank straps and the clutch

    Repairs came to over £4000

Not a bad shout ill see if i can blag a day away next week.

Car was a Gem slightly higher mileage than our normal of this spec but full service history and only a few keepers.

Definitely a car i would not be upset about buying back and i will throw a clutch in it and no doubt sell it again.

Is there any legal stand point for me to insist on a decision within 14 days. The last thing i want is this hanging over my head. I have done the maths last night and i have the money to pay her back although it will stall me till something else sells.

They are also reporting my tester to VOSA and have advised they are awaiting on VOSA to come out and inspect the car before they can do anything with it ??? Any truth in VOSA doing this ???

Vosa can only get involved if it’s rusty holes within 30 cm of a seatbelt or suspension mounting point, anything else could have happened at any time. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I called vosa on a car that had 2 weeks off a fresh mot that was decatted, 3 bald tyres, 3 snapped springs, washers inop etc and they told me that could have happened at any time.

With regards to your defects I would be estimating, £90 to supply and fit 2 track rod ends, Discs pads and a Caliper at £350/400, heatshields and tank strap at £50, clutch at £400 and a bit more for the sill, so less than a grand at retail prices. I highly doubt it would need discs all round though unless your pdi was extremely lax. Sounds like she’s taking the piss.

  6. You can accept finance deals without fca approval as long as your not the introducer.

One of our brokers actually suggested this to us if we couldn’t be bothered with Gabriel reports and the hassle of fca registration.  He said they would go out to the clients house and sign them up etc but only if the customer mentioned finance first.

  7. Can I ask what the reported defects are?

I would personally be trying to talk them into returning the car themselves unless the faults made it undriveable, and if they were at it I would be deducting revalet costs etc etc. Obviously if it is a legitimate claim I wouldn’t make any deductions. But if customers want to play the prick I can be a bigger one as I have much more experience at it:lol:

You might want to contact Winn Solicitors in Newcastle who are the top no fault accident claim solicitors. They pay the trade introductory commission. They might arrange for a new Merc Van for your Dad to use in the meantime, check them out.

I deal with non fault stuff on occasion myself but unfortunately my dad is too straight laced no matter how much I told him it’s completely legit, he wouldn’t let me put his van into storage etc, insisted on keeping on his own drive still insurance company came out etc

  9. Wondering if someone could help me on this, a police car on a blue light call decided to go straight through a roundabout without looking or slowing and hit the side of my dads van, it looks like it will be a total loss as it heavy side damage but I’m trying to work our values for him for insurance.

    Reg is K6 PGG

Volkswagen transporter red with 82000 miles, electric windows, 6 speed box etc. Decent condition.

Can someone please get me cap and retail figures as my system won’t value vans:huh:

    thanks

You drive a multi coloured pearlescent R8 (according to your profile picture) - nuff said :P

It’s not for everyone but most people seem to like it. I just wish it was quicker, a Mclaren 720 made me look like I was going backwards yesterday :o

  11. I used to get this fairly regularly years ago when I had a unit though was part time. But 50% of customers can be fairly stupid, the same ones that call and ask, the mileage, the price, when it was last serviced even though it is all clearly displayed in the advert. Customers see a picture then pick up the phone or drive to see it.

  12. This old argument again, yes it’s expensive, yes we all wish there was a cheaper option that worked just aswell but there isn’t so we just need to like it or lump it, it’s a brilliant business model looking at it from the other side when their logic is we need them more than they need us.

You should perhaps try advertising with Brum motors or whatever he was called from a few months ago?

Erm hello, are we forgetting the infamous R8?

:D hence my statement I’ve not had a good year with Audi autos:lol:

In fairness the R8 isn’t a dsg box, it’s a stupid r tronic semi Auto which is as comparably poor as the bmw smg boxes. It is actually the same as the lambo e-gears which probably explains why it’s crap.

However on the subject of the R8 I shall need to update the topic as it is now fully fixed. It was Audi’s poor workmanship that caused the fault.
