  1. That is it in a nutshell, well said Frank.

And to go off topic slightly, who all heard the latest greatest idea from these Govt. wanktards this morning ????????????

Apparently there have been a few Migrants get drowned trying to cross the English Channel in inflated Durex etc so they can illegally enter the UK ...................

So what are the Govt. fucktards now gonna do .......................

They now plan on giving them free passage to UK so they don't drown themselves ............................

What the fuck is that all about :(:angry::angry:

  2. I do wear a mask, not for myself but as respect for others ................................. ;)

As for the rest of it, stuff like how many I can have in my house Christmas Day, driving to England to visit my family etc etc they can fuck right off !!

If they ever get all the other do as ya likeys to abide by there un-clear rules then I'll rethink ;)

He's coming tomorrow if his wife says its ok  bloody wimps

This is the fuckin' problem, too many Snowflakes, and at the other end of the scale too many who are still doin' exactly as they like ..................

I am now joining the latter, no twat is Policing anything anyway, it's a joke now ;)

Why the fuck should we all punish ourselves and families, things like Christmas Visits for example, or closing our Businesses again !!

The Govt. speak is, (well some of it is), all very well, but because there is no resources to Police it there are many many more who are just doing as they wanna do than those who are abiding by the (once again unclear) rules ;)

    I rest my case ;)

  4. You know what assumption is the mother of, especially regarding a sellers fault description ;)

I'd want to buy something like that on the assumption that it's gonna need another Engine, so I'd want it cheaper than all the rest by at least the full retail cost of a good used Engine + it's replacement costs. I would do my due diligence first too, can I get a good used engine, or is it one that's just as likely to be fucked when buying used, how much for the average decent used engine, what kind of wanker is it to fit, fluids, belts, labour times etc ;)

  5. Simples ..........................

    Supply and demand ;)

    Invoice

    Repairs to transmission £   50.00

     Specialist knowledge £  2450.00

                                  Total £ 2500.00

Sounds to me like a possible case of buyers remorse! If the car was so bad, surely she would have been in contact with you by now? You need to be careful with these sort of customers and take control of the situation.  On Tuesday the car is basically undrivable, but by the end of Thursday you haven't heard from her?! You need to point out to her that her continued use of the car may cause further problems for which you wont be liable.

It was delivered so Salt should collect it.Also the customer should be instructed not to drive it as that could be dangerous given that she has reported a smell of petrol.Nip it in the Bud and refund or it could cost far more later on.

If it comes to it, refund by same means as payment

    All of this yes :)

I will ask a garage to check over the car before handing over the cash if she agrees to let me do so.

YOU need to control this, don't mention delayed refund, simply ask her to return the car or you go collect it if local to you, then once you have keys and car, get it looked at first, before issuing the refund ....................

If she get's all aggy once you have the Keys and Car just tell her that there will be no delays but it is your "company policy" to inspect the Car at your workshops and only then will you issue a bank transfer or she can collect the cash and sign for receipt of it !!

  8. Yes, exactly the correct approach, you are paying for their time, not a half arsed opinion ..................

The only other thing it just faintly maybe (if but possibly) etc etc is a bad earth to a module, but I only ever did one that wasn't the pipe blocked, there are a lot of 'em round these parts and it's a very common issue as others here have confirmed ;)

It is almost essential that they actually remove that pipe and banjo fitting to do the job properly ;)

  9. Bosch yes ;)

Does that mean I can buy then and deliver them upto you to get fixed

I don't do Transmissions any more now, except my own, modern trans are effectively un rebuildable these days, due to everything inside being made from wet noodles ............

When you rebuild 'em, you rely on most of the "Hard Parts" being in good condition, and just replace stuff that wears like Synchros Forks and Bearings etc, or Clutches, Seals, Filters, Bushes etc in an auto ;)

But nowadays you build a box, give a guarantee, and a lot more % wise come back because some weak piece of shit that the stealerships won't sell separately has simply busted .................

Not worth it now, and it's only getting worse, I sold my share of the gearbox firm 14 years ago, my Partner sold up a couple years later, we had our hey day ;)

John Mackie is your guy in Glesga, but fuck me, I sent a customer to him, Audi with a Reverse Gear issue when hot ..................... £3500 later ....................... :o

  10. Powershits are OK when you know exactly how to fix 'em, 9 times outta 10 it costs me less than a fiver in parts ;)

    Top secret ......................

    Shhhhhhhhh ......................

I don't mind tellin' ya'all now since I don't have the Transmission firm any more ...................

New "Brushes" in the Servo Motors ......................

We used to get some right good earners outta them back in their hey day ;)

But, all 208’s, regardless of trim level, should come as standard with the touch screen?

Yes, well that is to say I've never seen one without, and I get a lot of them in around these parts for various faults ;)

  12. Regards the INPA ISTA, thanks but as i said I've tried it on every Com Port going, still no dice :(

Personally I reckon it might actually be the K + D Can Lead itself, but fed up wi' it now, I am getting a totally new SSD done by a guy I trust and have used before, he has been doing all my Merc SDS drives for years, started doing BMW in more recent years, he says use Icom so that's what I'll buy, looking right now ;)

  13. Thanks guys for all the offers and help etc ................

I'm in NW Scotland lol, near IOS, car has now been sold to the local drifter king down the pub yesterday evening, collected this morning

I started it loads more yesterday and am pretty sure the ELV Counter reset had worked, as before I did that I could start it fine cold,  but leave it running for 10 minutes, turn off and try a restart, wham light on no crank ;) From what I've read that could well only be  a temporary measure, as if the column is bad the counter will go up rapidly ;)

The car was a definite shed, proper minger that lived by the sea, the motor was rough as a bears arse too, I would not have retailed it ;)

I have as I said got INPA ISTA etc, but never managed to get it to connect to anything using K & D CAN leads.

I have now bought Icom MUX Kit on the advice of a guy I use for my SDS s/w and that fella is doing me an allegedly plug and play SSD for the laptop, see where that leads me :D

TBH I don't have much to do with BMW's and the Snap On (since updating it last Xmas), has been very good with the bloody Beemers.

I don't like the fuckin things, don't like some of the knobs who drive 'em and don't take 'em on as a rule, but I do like to have Dealer Level kits for all the popular stuff on our roads, and yeah, there are loads of 'em up here.

I did read tons of shite on the internet and did all the Com port settings and other stuff, never did manage to get that HDD to work right.

Had I had a BMW in at the time of buying that original software suite, I'd have gone back at the Fleabay seller, but it was like 9 months before I got a job in to use it on and by then that seller had disappeared into the EBay void of electronic nirvana :( .....................

    Yeah yeah I know ;)
