  1. Haha - I doubt any of us would last that long in a corporate main dealer environment. My last job was basically doing everything BUT selling cars...
  2. Exactly the same here....
  3. Yes, no probs. This is the website of the company I use. Great guys and deliver a good service imho http://www.autoimaging.co.uk/
  4. Hi Kelly Totally understand about struggling to find a place outside to take the pictures. Its something we have struggled with as well. I pay for backgrounds to be dropped into 5 of my external photos and it costs me £4.50 per car. (Plus a monthly sub for the App - £35 if you use your own phone) I know that isn't for everyone but I feel it works best for me. Best of luck with it all :-)
  5. Hi, When we started we always took the photos indoors, but have recently changed to taking them outside. I always found the indoor photos didn't jump out at you in an AT search. Here is an example of a car photographed inside https://www.langleyprestige.co.uk/vehicle/mini-cooper-cooper-d-chilimedia-xl-in-chelmsford-essex-fba70f88-3b54-43b1-a2aa-6dc95c9650bf And then one outside https://www.langleyprestige.co.uk/vehicle/audi-tt-tdi-ultra-s-line-in-chelmsford-essex-d431238a-c872-4c00-9324-ffa20be89359 Personally, I much prefer the pictures taken outside as they look a bit yellow taken inside. A point already made by someone else. The only downside to that is that I have 3 cars to photograph and it has pissed it down the last 2 days here so it has delayed advertising.... One thing I would say, is that wherever you take the photos, just aim for consistency in every car and try and avoid having any distractions in the background of any of the pictures, such as shelving units/other cars etc. Having said all that though, I like your website. Its professional and easy to navigate. Looks good :-)

30 a week..……… ? It just isn't going to happen. Where are you sourcing a minimum of 120 a month from ? Like EPV, maybe I have misunderstood ?

Another +1 for the Titan here. Superb value for money. I think I bought it on recommendation from here actually
  9. Essentially yes. Just tax online using the green slip. Its best to do on a direct debit or choose a car that is only £20/£30 a year to tax as you wont get a refund back when you sell it :-)
  10. TG, be aware that when you tax at the Post Office they will want to send off the V5 with new keeper details. Are you prepared to put an extra owner on it ?
  11. I am pretty certain you can only tax it at the Post Office as it will require a change of taxation class. That's what we do with any ex MFL cars we sell
  12. Good on you Nick. Seems like you are on fire
  13. 2 so far off the back of a good October. Enquiry quality and levels holding up well. I am optimistic for another good month
  14. August for me was dreadful, September recovered and was "OK" October, after 15 days has already surpassed my best month this year. I gave up trying to make sense of it all a long time ago....
  15. Have you tried motortradedelivery.com ? They are an AT company but I have used them once and as far as I remember it was relatively good value.
  16. CTT is run by the guys who used to run ATM. We have bought some good stock from CTT and the monthly fee is reasonable. Never had any trouble with any of the other traders I have dealt with. Not sold anything through them as yet though so couldn't comment. We have quite a bit of success trading through Autorola if you can stomach the sellers fees.
  17. Ex JLR (Sales Manager) so no workshop experience , but I know a few people who might know, so happy to take a call and help if I can Over at AB Chelmsford in the morning, but I am about in the afternoon if it helps Cheers
  18. Not in the location you suggested and probably a bit too far but Taylors in Great Dunmow, Essex are pretty good from my experience. I am ex JLR myself and never heard a bad word personally. They are an authorised repairer though https://www.taylorsservicecentres.co.uk/
  19. Not wrong. All ex VAG I believe, but not anything to do with VW. Do a good job though.
  20. Hi, Not sure about the Renault but from my time served as a Citroen Sales Manager the C4 Picasso was always a slow sell. Now if that were a Grand C4 it would be a different story in my eyes. But it is a nice spec in a popular colour. Presentation is very good though and I cant see anything obvious personally. Good luck getting them shifted
  21. Watch out for the doors on these Dean. They had a habit of opening when they felt like it ;-)
  22. I use Vehicle Trader software. Costs £210 +VAT to licence for the year but turns out professional order forms/invoices etc. You can manage your stock book on there and print off a vast array of reports as well. Good value IMHO. And it links to Sage if you use that.
  23. For the couple of different large franchise groups I worked for it was always around 1-1.5% of hammer price including the VAT.
  24. I was originally going to trade from home but decided to go with premises locally. Albeit a no frills cheap base to keep overheads down. We have invested more in the website and online advertising. I don't know if it has any bearing with the customers either way but for me the deciding factor was separation between work and home life.
