Audi A3 2.0tdi not staring

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have a 2009 Audi A3 refusing to start at times, when this happens there are no ignition lights what so ever, all other lights such as heater lumination, side, headlights etc working, the engine will turn and fire briefly then cut out. If I disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect it will start and everything working fine.

Can anyone help??

Paul.

Have you got any trouble codes out of it?

If it starts after a reboot it might be the gateway module behind the glovebox.

Cleared down codes yesterday, now got clean slate, will plug in tomorrow and see what comes up, you could be right, but didn't know there was a moduel behind glove box??

Its a VAG, could literally be anything but have seen the instrument cluster to give trouble on these before. Get it to a proper Auto Electrician

Yes its not very big, they are not very expensive either on ebay for a new one.

Yes instrument cluster wiring is more common, but without trouble codes its a difficult one.
