No but it would just add an extra owner just tax is using V62 at post office when you sell it.

you have car at premises but no log book

you either apply by post or at PO and await log book

do not sell car in this period but take a holding deposit

or

if car is showing in trade fill the v62 in at pos and go tax at the post office

if you send in another v62 after your  first application your customer might get his car lifted for not showing taxed as system gets confused

been there got the underpants

How do you tell if a car is in trade?

I recently purchased a car without v5 and sent off for v62 in company name.

I thought you needed the previous keepers post code to be able to tax a car on v62?

If you go to the Gov.uk website to check if a car is taxed and input the registration, at the bottom of the information page that comes up, after the vehicle details it will say "You may be able to tax this vehicle at a Post Office Branch that deals with vehicle tax without the V5C registration certificate." which indicates its in the trade.
