friar 8 Posted July 29, 2018 Anyone else finding they are failing in open mode bringing car to standstill? Seems faulty manufacture up till change of supplier in 2013,and expensive to change.£300 each parts.
MrC 142 Posted July 29, 2018 They are an Achilles heal in the 1.6 TDI Caddy, quite a common fault and I do believe that once one injector fails the rest follow suit.
Stalker 180 Posted July 29, 2018 If they fail within 2 years of the EA189 action, there is a trust building measure that covers the injectors. Dealers are fitting all four if necessary FOC. (Not available for cars in the trade - Put it in a customers name) The difference between some old injectors on these cars and new ones is vast..... its like the best remap ever the difference. friar 8 Posted July 29, 2018 Had two cars in trouble and,foc injector change, but in my trade name, so more worry to come it seems. One car had new set of injectors 2013,and this was one of those failed.(13,000 miles total) Another car to come with EML light, but outside 2 years EA189,so don't know what will happen.Sounds expensive!! Stalker 180 Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) I bought some from euro for about £170 plus vat a piece. New units not recon ones. The pumps have a habit of braking up inside and this leads to a breakdown. Edited July 29, 2018 by Stalker
