HelenQueen 0 Posted March 16, 2017 Morning! The reason I joined this forum was to increase my knowledge about cars, and my first question is about buying a used car! I'm looking to purchase this VW Scirocco TDI CR GT 3dr for about £10,000 (http://www.umberslademotors.com/vw-scirocco-tdi-cr-gt-3dr-in-solihull-6144781) but I have some questions that I don't want to ask the sales people because I know they'll just BS me: Is this a good price for a VW Scirocco? Are there any benefits of buying second hand over new? Are there any better cars I can get for £10,000 Is there anything I should look out for when buying a used car? Good and Bad Any help muchly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
andymc1973 199 Posted March 16, 2017 hi Helan this is a forum for the motor trade. I would suggest piston heads for general car queries ps the diesel is fine in the scirocco avoid the petrol
justina3 518 Posted March 16, 2017 Nothing wrong with research good on you, but i would say not all sales people like to bs

HelenQueen 0 Posted March 17, 2017 An independent inspection sounds like a good plan! I have a family friend who works with cars, so I'll bring him along!
Ken 10 Posted March 17, 2017 If you're doing lots of short runs, a Diesel is not going to be any good for you as you'll soon clog up the DPF.
