I get charged 2% to pay cash in! They've got us cornered haha

Exactly why these fees need to be passed on unless you already work it into your margin before putting the car up for sale. Either way the customer needs to be paying.

Catching up on the reading on a Saturday afternoon!

I recently purchased a pre-reg Twingo off a Renault Retail dealer for a customer. I received an email from their Finance department with the pro-forma invoice stating unless I paid by Bank Transfer at least one day prior to collection there would be fee's incurred for debit card and credit card transactions.

I must admit, I don't charge for Debit cards, but, do push Faster pay when I can.

Usually, card transactions in the UK are around 2,5%. Sometimes a bit lower. Depends on getting the best Deal.
With comparison websites, you immediately get a couple of quotes of the bigger companies.

Decent quotes and they will compete againts each other for your business. So you can get the rate below 2% ...
Read the small letters: example: is your card machine included. Can you change it for the latest model. Can it handle contactless payments, etc..

Mint thread this... Ive noticed for a  while that Worldpay have been having our pants down. They have just changed the times for the money hitting our account. It used to hit our account at 9am on the second day after taking the payment on the card, now it hits at 5pm.

They are obviously having cash flow issues......
