Beautiful South Martin 24 Posted February 17, 2023 Got an issue with a 2012 Honda Civic 2.2 diesel which our local auto electrician has pin pointed to a faulty throttle body. No longer available, according to local main dealer, tried to match the part numbers off the old one on ebay, nothing the same as mine. Does anyone know if these can be reconditioned and if so do you have a contact you can pass on. Many Thanks
Halfpenny 114 Posted February 19, 2023 IIRC there are two versions of throttle body used on the Honda 2.2D. They are made by Hitachi and an insane price from UK dealers. Best part of £2k I think. Never known anyone to rebuild them (highly unlikely any internal parts are available) but you could try the likes of BBA Reman. What is the problem? Poor throttle response and flat spots on these is normally the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor, which frequently goes bad.
Beautiful South Martin 24 Posted February 24, 2023 Hi Halfpenny all sorted now, took a punt on a second hand one from a breakers, apparently you don't need to match the part numbers as long as its same year and engine. Fitted for £70 part and £60 labour, running as sweet as a nut, expensive drama avoided, for a change
