  1. We use Close and our account manager called in a few weeks ago to let us know that they will now fund cars up to 15 years old.
  2. Back in the days of working at a main dealer I had a lot of dealings with motability customers. Motability would allow people to change cars early in exceptional circumstances. As time went on and things got slacker I had people changing early because they didn't like the colour.
  3. We had this on one of our run a round cars. Didn't notice that the mot had expired and so the next monthly payment for tax didn't go through (they must check each month). First I knew was when I got back to the car with the wife and a load of shopping to find it clamped. Expensive over sight and unhappy wife.
  4. Wow. How did I not know this. Got a car going out in 30 minutes and only have front page of the V5. Thought that I would have to go to the post office to tax it. Thank you !!
  5. Another vote for Close here. Really helpful, easy proposals and decent rates and commissions. We are only a small set up and don't do that much finance but Close have been great for our business.
  6. I will often tax a stock car using the green slip if I need something to run around in. Just set up a monthly direct debit and cancel it again when I have finished using the car. Never had a problem taxing it again using the same green slip when it sells.
  7. To be fair in almost two years I haven't had an issue with Worldpay. it's just that having any card payments clearing into my account next working day, instead of three days does sound appealing. Just don't want to change to Payzone and then find that it's not actually true.
  8. Just had a rep from Payzone card processing call in trying to sell their services. As it happens my contract with Worldpay is due for renewal in October so I was about to start shopping around for a better deal. The actual cost is a bit less with Payzone but not really enough for me to change. The thing that did get my attention though was that she said that because I bank with Barclays any card payments would clear in to my account the next working day, which sounds great. Do any of you use Payzone and also bank with Barclays? If so could you confirm that this is actually the case? Philip
  9. Having read all of your posts over the last few months I thought it about time that I said hello. Having spent almost 20 years in sales for VW I finally took the plunge and went on my own last October. It wasn't planned as such. More a case of an opportunity coming up after one to many in the village pub. Two days later I handed my notice in and one month after that I was on my own. The only thing that I miss about my time in a main dealer is having lots of different people around . I am based in-between Grantham and Newark in the East midlands so if any of you are passing this way and need a coffee break please call in. Philip
