  1. Just thought I'd try and be helpful on the compliance bit - if you apply the above statement to the FCA concs on financial promotions it wouldn't be compliant. First thing - if you have a cost of credit you need a representative example (the interest rate being a cost of credit) which needs to be at least as prominent as the cost of credit that triggered it, if you are offering any incentive to enter into a credit agreement without showing a cost of credit, i.e. making a statement such as "Excellent finance rates available" then you have to have an APR statement which needs to be more prominent. 2 things on your line - you have the term 4.9% flat APR is this a flat rate or an APR as it can't be both (therefore could be deemed to be misleading) and you don't have a representative example but are quoting a cost of credit. Something like "Finance available subject to acceptance 4.9% APR Representative" would be more compliant (if indeed your rate is APR not flat rate which I suspect its probably not)
  2. So now I know why Sparky lost both his games for the mighty Wrexham FC chess team in our Champions league tie to FC Tom this weekend, the captain would hand out a telling off had he not been battered in both of his as well! We were damn good on Saturday though, we need to get Mr Vose on a long term one Sparky my friend!
  3. Its all about unprompted awareness ratings, not just SEO and marketing Umesh. Go and ask 100 people if they have heard of Auto Trader, I would imagine 98 or so would say yes, ergo I would guess their prompted awareness rating would be around high 90's. Then ask 100 people to name a place on the internet where there are cars for sale from multiple vendors, my guess, at least 50% would say Auto Trader ergo an unprompted rating of around 50% (maybe someone from Auto Trader could confirm, they will have these stats and they will have the ratings for their competitors). Until someone gets close to these ratings then they will have a tough time competing at the same level. The likes of RAC and AA can certainly take them on in the unprompted awareness stakes, they have extremely strong brands, now they need to convert that into unprompted awareness in the portal arena and its game on. The strength here is in the brand and brand awareness, not necessarily in the car numbers.
  4. Chess cafe Sparky, you know it works! Make sure you don't get too busy and miss our Champions League games. * we both support the same football team and play for the same chess team in the same chess league in case anyone thought this was a randomly insane post!
  5. Andy Firstly a big thumbs up from myself and Charlotte to BEN, Car Dealer and the AA for organising and keeping us going! My highlight had to be the Fiat Factory, how many people get to watch the Italian Job and say they've been on that roof. Other memorable moments have to include the dog, firstly seeing them shampoo it down at the services and then being behind them when the toll police pulled them just to get a photo with the drug sniffer dog! The driving was hard but the nights were full of talk and laughter, new friends have been made and memories embedded. I loved it as i'm sure everyone else did.
