If someone is still looking at buying a car today then they don't give a monkeys about the virus and the last person they'll want to buy from is someone's who might be a bit paranoid about it... no offence intended, just my thoughts.
Therefore, business as usual. Take your precautions - no handshakes, antibac spray , wiping desks, but don't go changing the formula.
Maybe this is controversial?
Its a professional approach to a very serious issue.
Im not saying its the answer and i am sure mark hasn't taken this stance lightly.
I intend to do all viewings as normal

XXX Ltd has taken the decision to suspend any and ALL casual viewing of vehicles in order to protect its staff, customers and suppliers against any unnecessary and potential exposure to any COVID 19 (Coronavirus).
Until further notice, XXX staff will only be in attendance to hand over vehicles that have already been sold or for people whom have made a commitment to buy a vehicle from the description and pictures on the website by means of a non-refundable deposit.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause but we feel as a responsible company and employer, these are sensible safety measures to help limit the spread of Coronavirus.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Typically, I have 4 cars going out on Friday which under normal circumstances I would be very happy.
I have popped in for a couple of hours today (finish prepping one car) and one hour on Monday (a sold one collected by third parties for MOT and a smart repair). Other than that, I am working from home.
I refused my Auditor from Next Gear entry today and just handed him a notice saying that we are not handling anything non-essential. His office agreed for him to leave.
All shutters are down, door locked and a sign pointing people to our website if they want to "buy" a car - No casual viewings.
This means I am still isolated (excpet my dog came in with me) and no-one should be aware that I am in.
Ill not pop in for a coffee this week then.
In all seriousness brilliant advice and a very professional stance.

If they ask to look at the engine, I explain when I'm popping the bonnet (and theyre taking a minute to find the latch to open it) that I don't believe in mixing water/steam and electrics. Rarely is anyone bothered. I Had one punter ask me to get it cleaned before he picked it up a couple of days later, so I asked my valeter to wipe it over, which he did. The punter didnt even check when he collected.....
I am torn with this exact argument.
I used to detail engine bays spend ages doing it all up until one day a punter walked away because the engine bay was to clean and thought i was hiding something.

My sons 29 now but when he was 19 we paid £1,911.00 for no restriction on engine size or price for trade and social , motorcycle business and social inc
That was for me the wife and my son .
Also inc public liability , tools , stock and 3 sets of trade plates
My 32 year old daughter is on with us now and 10 yrs later its 3k which i still moan about when June comes .
20 year old and wanting to get on in life but insurance is hampering you , that is terrible , what a stupid system we have , pay people to have kids and stay at home like slobs but you want to get on in life and have to pay through the nose for the privilege of trying to earn money .
Dont even get me started......
I have been pushing my luck for long enough. Luckily dad does a lot of the collections and stuff and we do have a trailer which i can use.
I dont think my area or being a doorstepper helps either. Still waiting on a call back from 3 days ago from 2 brokers so not holding out much hope.
Currently looking into renting a unit as it looks like it might be cheaper to have a unit on the books and insurance through there instead.

Going to be harder for the new businesses to cope with money flow at a low point .
Might be catastrophic for bigger outfits on loans too .
Hope you all get through it if it gets to that point .
I have just taken on a decent amount of debt as this all started
Luckily it also means i have some cash to get us through this. My car gurus account renewal is soon so i might dwindle that right down to penny pinch.
Tempted to offer free delivery within 100 miles to the ones who fear traveling to try and get us through.

Turn on all the notifications add the page to your home screen on your phone. Keep refreshing every 30 minutes and every once in a while you might actually manage to get something. But at least most the stuff on there is good value.

Give it a month and you will be back to doing 80.
Did you actually see the flash or just roll through at 80 ?
I find that cameras on the motorway are not triggered till over 80.
Happens to the best of us

Considered putting them on the trade 2 trade facebook group at cost + Drink ? Will get you some proper bids and get them sold without come backs.

I had a grade 5 out of walsall yesterday.
Other than a spanked clutch its a really bright thing definitely not a grade 5.
Makes up for the grade 3 from last week with a smashed in front end.
