I tend to buy the same type/colour car a lot of the time. For example I have bought 4 2013 White Golf's in the past 2 months, I have used the same advert and photos to sell the last 3, therefore saving time taking pics, etc. People don't notice little differences as such, although one young lad did notice the car he was buying had no tinted windows while the one in the advert had. He still bought it but may not have come at all but for the wrong pics.

This is why I love commercials.

We get a lot of the same type direct from the same company, always identical spec and always within a few reg digits of each other; one set of photos and not one customer has ever noticed B)

Back in the Stone Age we had a little book with prices in, funnily enough they were typically in order of spec base, L, GL, GLS, CD etc... If you wanted to know more info like which model was fitted with luxuries like a passenger door mirror or side repeaters then you would look in the check book which had all the info you ever wanted! Sad I know but as soon as the new months copy arrived (usually one or two days before the end of the month) I used to read every page. Aaah the good old days!

Like! Reminds me of my first days in the trade..

When derivatives were mentioned L, GLS etc were the first thing that came to mind!

The wife ran a couple of S60 D5's (220k and another to 160K), wonderful cars, go like stink, brilliant on fuel, cracking sound systems, freezy cold air cons, a lovely driver's car, solid build

Stop it, you’re making me want another now

Had an enquiry to part x in a 1.0 ecoboost focus with o/s finance, not had any dealings with them till now, cap says no previous keepers, so that reads to me '1' keeper BUT... the vehicle has had 50 searches in it's lifetime!!! looks like the guy took out finance in 2015 and now wants out, not a problem, but the question is A/ why so many searches and B/ are these any good to retail, i'm tempted to say not interested but don't want to be scared off from the search side if it's a good retail vehicle...any advice on these cars greatly appreciated...

I actually had to check my CAP history because this was the exact situation I had with a Focus on one of our vans a few months back, guy enquired several times but would never deal.

My customers was a TDCi though!

Just had an e mail this morning from our website provider offering deals with Shpock, i thought Shpock was on the star ship enterprise but nope they are the next big thing,,,, thought that was find and fund but i cancelled them.... Onwards and upwards....

Had the same. A quick look at Shpock tells me the clientele are at a lower level than Scumtree.. It’s a no from us!

Hi all, im about to put this up for sale so who's up for some light hearted fun? The ad will state *no last price* *no best price* *no calls after 5pm*, how long until one if not all three of these statements are ignored? This is going to be a World of pain, note to self "what doesn't kill me can only make me stronger"

    Is it sold yet Andy?

Romanian purchased for export, soon to be clocked......

And he openly admitted it too! Said he would buy any of the stereotypical export cars I got.

To answer Stephen Ive always run my auctions to end Sunday evening although with mobile access these days I'm not sure whether it still makes a difference?

how did you get on Chris?

The Auris was an SR petrol, nice example and attracted the right person so nice and easy.

The Avensis was an 08 so not a lot of money but had a stint on Gumtree followed by an eBay no reserve auction where it sold at the highest bid to a Romanian for export. All messages ignored and no number in my ad during the auction!
