  1. Sounds all too much of a coincidence now, as suggested document and film it all to cover yourself here, sounds like a right nut job! Best rid of it as I would hazard a guess whatever is "fixed" something else will only go wrong further down the line.. If they have some tw*t advising them, then rest assured they will aim to get their monies worth out of you plus giving you the run around and probably get refunded.. T*ssers...

All the chat about firemen makes we start to wonder about midwives... Just how can that be?? I reckon there must be plenty of blokes who are dab hand are removing a cranckshaft who could remove a sprogoon; using the same tools.. ...

  2. Here is AD giving video tutorials, They had slapped a deposit down of course...

(Left to right) Harpo Marx, Groucho Marx, and Chico Marx in A Day at the Races

The chap in the middle is non other than Rufus T. Firefly... in a later movie he became Wolf J. Flywheel... he liked a large ceeeegar...

This really should be attire for BCA..... "A day at the auctions" the box set... :P

Jeez, I really don't give a fuck !! I'm getting pissed of with some of the silly bickering on here anyways :(

If the "lady" in question didn't want all sorts of far lewder comments than mine then perhaps she should have thought about that before having that particular picture taken eh !!

    Exactly

  4. Reading this Dave I remember OSF ABS warning with a Volvo AWD, DIaG showed OSF sensor, handing it over to my BMW/Volvo indi guys, after half a day the reported the sensor was likely to be the issue, but; experience told them the bearing can be bad too.. so they ordered both, would return any unused.. I was warned it may not be an immediate turnaround once these parts arrived, as experience had taught them across AWD, these bearings were "handed" and not all factors totally get this right when supplying said parts..

Mine turned out to be straight forward with just the ABS sensor needing renewing.. bearing was ok and the problems end there..

Wee dram out, feet up, match on!

Well fuck me backwards with a broomstick, it isn't the sensor, it's now down to the (already replaced) wheel bearing, cos I fished the old bearing out from the bin and stuck the new sensor in it, spun it by hand and voila !! Wheel Speed registering in Data, stick new sensor in the bearing on the Car and no speed signal, bearing sizes, trigger etc all looks identical, so it's either a duff bearing or there is 2 different ones ................

According to Factors there is only one listed, they are sending me another on first Van, so I will do the hold it in hand and spin it test before fitting it :(

Give me a fuckin' Mercedes any day over this VAG shit, that's all it is pure 100% shit !!

Dave, truly an epic, masterclass diagnosis here... I wish you were closer to me, I'd be happy funding your Merc refit via getting my vehicles PDI/fettled at your place...

Total result here, I doubt an MD would have done so much to find the "root cause".. or even known where to fkn start.. computer sez noooo..

Looking forward to reading the invoice is generated and this thing is out the door..

  6. This makes sorry reading... as previously said, there is a lot in the text of the website and email at is simply not right; never mind "pay us a large sum" before you even see something..

This website www.used-carslancs.co.uk  was only registered in January this year, anonymous domain owner registered to a business in possibly Holland. The contact email is a different domain sales@used-carsales.net this is registered in Ontario in mid February 2019.. Given this, a little further scrutiny shows all the testimonials on the website are from dates before either domain name was registered and the website created.

A couple of the vehicles have had the images lifted from main dealer websites.. I'm sure there is more if you rake over it..

The OP should report this to the feds and action fraud plus any steps his bank advise them to make

I hope something positive is heard back on the offer of a refund or from the bank .....

  7. + 1  found the forum most helpful, enlightening and friendly... Thanks to all that participate and share their expereince(s) FOC!...

I'd say BCA just want their sites cleared of purchased cars ASAP, always see cars lying around in various places with stickers saying remove in 24hrs or else.... Should imagine their daily throughout of vehicles, lack of space, means they need everything shifting and pronto so they can auction more bargains.. well the odd one or two....

baring in mind these are basecoat water based over lacquer you really need to try this on the car somewhere unseen before doing a doortop

    it must be really bad

    any piccies?

+ 1 for Boring Dave sticking oar in :) Quite right too, take care on the removal process... I build radio control aircraft and use this glue frequently, the paint schemes are fuel (12% nitro methane) / glue resistant, however always wise to use in an area that is not seen often.. 2pak modern paints are fuel resistant, even my model fuel with nitro methane..

I find the super glue debonder softens the original glue into a jelly like mess, plenty of clothes and dont wipe across the paint - just dab the local area to be worked on.. I always rinse after user the debonder, spray of TFR and rinse, polish in a bit of extra cash.. Hope it helps.  Piccies would be worth posting..

  9. Dean, I have used this stuff with some success. Add it on the damaged area and it reacts with the glue.. mop and polish the area thereafter as its likely to lift any impurities from the paint and brighten up just that spot! Worth having in stock if you have super glue for any other jobs.. like sticking fingers together!

    Glue debonder

You can get Acetone from a chemist, its nail polish remover by any other name.. keep by the PC screen for sniffing when reading "unreal" threads...

I was talking with a garage owner the other week that has just had his best guy leave, he offered him £40k to stay and he still left.

Now £40k in the north east is a bloody good wage!

Supposedly he wasn’t that good either!

I'd say over the last 12mths I've seen a range of local Indies advertising for time served spanners; local Merc & Vauxhall do too..

Must be the same as most trades, the few experienced lads that are about are in demand..

My lad is a time served joiner, picks his work, hours and charge rate and he is approached weekly by local and national construction firms with silly offers..

  12. Smoked a few 95 over the year, estates aero and diesels.. Corrosion isnt something I have come across, oil starvation, heating fans different story.. Some of my engine work is done by an Indi GRG and the owner is ex SAAB trained, 40 years on the buggers.. he is also regional chair of the local SAAB club.. corrosion is not something he talks about in these cars, especially pre GM vehicles which the 95 will be.. I'd get that second opinion..

Maybe the MOT wants it for himself.. "those that know dont let them go!"

Yes of course, totally normal with a main Dealer PX, the vehicle registers take a while to be updated. I can completely reassure you of the cars genuineness, please call me to discuss fully. :) Cheers Nick @ "guaranteed happy cars"

Exactly as you say, had a Bavarian touring off private plates last year, the private plate went on to RR Vogue owner used finance to get into it.. the same thing happened, private plates picked up the finance - new plates took a while to catch up with the touring.... Pain how slow things can be really when speed in turning a vehicle can be everything to us.

You are like me, an easy decisive buyer.

Imagine a world where all punters buy cars like that :-)

    Meanwhile:

“Hi Nick, thank you for the close up video. We are ready to pay a deposit to hold the car but we have done an AA car check (which we always do when buying a used car) and an alert has come up regarding a previous plate and outstanding finance ??. Are you able to provide the VIN chassis number, V5 serial number and V5 document issue date as these have been asked for the additional checks by the AA Car Check. Many thanks.”

Be good to see a screen grab of what they are talking about.. :)

I think it’s luck of the draw with judges. I have been to court twice and both times they were very reasonable as they could see we did everything in our power to solve the issue but both times the customers were unreasonable.

Equally I know of those who should never of lost a particular case and have.

I don’t feel you have anything more to lose going to court than settling out of it. If you can prove she drove the car to destruction the judge may kick it out.

Pretty good summary above I would say, going to be the luck of the draw on the day with a judge..! That in itself can be stressful no matter how you prepare.... Suppose it may boil down to how much you just wish to move on....

I wholeheartedly agree with standing your ground and ensuring no one has your pants down.. however that isn't going to be your call in court.. There is likely to be "some" award made.. its about managing this cost and billie expectations..

No doubt this billie wants to get on with life too.... Can you offer the value of the car less useage and then something toward billie losses at mediation?

Get the piece of sh*t back and part it out or repair and sell it on to recover something; losses are deductible no?.

You're own costs may (partially) be covered if you're successful... add these to a mediation offer of making this go away, avoid court so you can move forward..

This billie can also add bad reviews and the like, its what their age group live for... so having a plan to make it go away may avoid these and any local press types slobbling in the back of the court..

There is a war to win here, don't get consumed by the battle!  I have no doubt she is lawyered up for advice (the compo claim has this stamped all over it, £1 short of £10k - purrrrleeese) so her fag packet legal will be pitching long knowing settlement lies in the middle..   I'd guess they are aiming to split the compo with her...

This age group tout amongst one another for claim work across facetube and all antisocial media; introducer fees paid up front!.. This one smacks of similar.

Good luck and keep us posted..

  16. Tend to agree with all the advice to avoid trying to swerve this.. The lightweights at HMRC will only spot it and then share the "news" and up scrutiny of all motor trader accounts..

2019 Making Tax Digital is a euphemism for helping HMRC to screw you "not only faster but harder".....

If it aint, then this is a public forum and they have just been told where to look .. what was it someone said about death and taxes... ;)
