We probably only have ourselves to blame, we all want work done for 'cheaper' and as quick as possible. Cheapest isn't always cheapest!

We are hopeful for the year ahead. You can honestly never tell though. There has been a lot of pcp and 0% written in the last 3 months certainly. Assuming manufacturers are still as competative and interest rates stay low 2014 should be OK. <crosses fingers>

The cherished plate fiasco is a nightmare ! not sure if saw my comments on http://twittercardealers.ning.com/ last week but I'd sent one off on the 3rd Sep, explained to the customer that these are taking 3-4 weeks, got him to pay for the car he was buying.... cut a long story short I'd chased DVLA with progress On the 24th I rang to be told IF it doesn't arrive by next Wednesday call us back !!! I also sent an email same day asking about progress. Email reply on 26th saying 'must be lost' will send new documents out ! on sat 28th Customer received New disc only, so picks the car up...... On Tuesday I get a envelope dated 28th will ALL the documents , the worry being all the documents inside are stamped 13th !! ALL This time sitting on someone's desk - Had I not chased it up when would I have got them back !! think its shocking !

I must confess I done something similar! But used my loaf and tied the bonnet down with the only thing I had........my tie. It's what bear grills would have done. The world would be a boring place if it was not for stupid people.

The sentiment is that the market slowed in the first week or so of October, as dealers took a breath; however, normality seems to be recovering. Concerns remain over high-mileage, poor-quality vehicle, albeit volumes have increased. Reports of high percentages of PCP business, with 80% declared from a single brand. I won't mention the dreaded Pre-Reg/Tactical registrations too early on here, needless to say - yes, the usual suspects. Doing some analysis around total cost of motoring at the minute and the relative association to the individual models registered in 2013 compared with previous years; reactive to the economy impact.

If only it had one of those Perspex engine covers that were popular with supercar manufacturers a few years ago...
