Vanman15 0 Posted October 22, 2015 Hello Everybody, This is my first post on here so please go easy! There seems to have been a recent boom in dealers cropping up all over the country selling prestige and supercars. I am talking in the £60,000 plus bracket here! I work for a franchised prestige dealer purchasing used stock for our 4 sites, these are vans anything up to 5t. Being in this role and attending auctions all over the country I have never seen many of these high end super cars knocking around in the yards?? Where do they get all their stock from? Is it a case of who you know and not what you know? Are they traded between dealers??Any information on this matter would be appreciated.
Daylight 28 Posted October 23, 2015 There's usually a few higher end cars that go through Blackbushe each week, last friday (i think) 2 Ferrari F430s and a Gallardo went through together. I don't really pay much attention as it's not really our market so may be better to consult the catalogues
sparky 274 Posted October 26, 2015 Noticed there is a F430 going through Blackbushe today. Given as a grade 5 and on paper looks a bit of a shed. If it goes through for a tenth of it's book I might take a chance...
Jamie Edmonds 28 Posted October 26, 2015 Wow, 11 former keepers, last keeper since June 2015 and now in an auction - that'll ring some alarm bells for most I'd say... If you're a gambling man the other car in that sale is a Gallardo showing as having a colour change in May, current keeper since June and a lot of bad paint and 3 keepers since it was registered in the UK in March 2014. I think I'd be inclined to pass on both of them personally! Both scream uninsured or TPO accident damage to me, badly repaired and thrown through the auction to get rid with no comeback. CJ Underhill 34 Posted October 26, 2015 The odd ones seem to appear on sytners auction, and my local sytner select has a few supercars in stock When i used to work at bruntingthorpe (before it was Manheim) we used to get the RBS snatchbacks, repo'd cars which were all supercars, high spec'd and modified Range Rovers and bentley GT's etcProbably find aswell, alot of them would be sale or return vehicles or commisson sale. I have done a couple of classic E-types and Aston Martins which were clients cars we moved on for them on a sale or return basis, as i know personally i wouldn't hand over £120k for a private sale super car
Jamie Edmonds 28 Posted October 26, 2015 That's what a friend of mine did a few years back when he was selling his F355 - it went to a specialist dealer on sale-or-return, the dealer appeared to be sitting on £ millions of stock but didn't actually have a stake in any of it. Wheelerdealer1 91 Posted October 26, 2015 Some will be from the supercar hire companies , of which there are many, the other reason for more super cars out there is of course much cheaper finance deals, there are plenty of people out there able to drop£700 - £1000+ a month to have a super car on their drive, a friend of mine pays £795 per month for his Lambo gallardo, he has the disposal so why not I suppose
