Stop Start System Faults

Recommended Posts

How many people on here are suffering with these problems with their stock. Car starts fine but start stop messages on dashboard saying its disabled blah blah blah. These modern cars that register just a small voltage drop in the battery set these warnings off. Do you put new start stop batteries on for your customers at approximately £170 a pop even though the car still starts fine or do you sell as it is.

Always state of charge faults, we give them a full charge to get them working and then give them back to the customer to show them what they are (not) missing. It’s a fifty fifty split at the moment between those that realise it’s a blessing the fact it’s not working and those that want a new battery.

Ring 4 suppliers before ordering and always check the dealer. We got one half the price of euro from Renault a couple of weeks ago.

I successfully cleared one after running the car for about 4 hours, but another needed both batteries.

Struggling to sell them if the warning lights are on, just puts customers off I've found.
