williamblackshaw 43 Posted January 9, 2014 I know we have to check vehicles for outstanding recalls when we sell a vehicle no matter what make or model, however if we are servicing a vehicle or it's in for repair, as we expected to check for outstanding recalls? I can't find this data anywhere. Also I find the dvla website poor for checking vehicles
umesh 336 Posted January 11, 2014 How many dealers actually check all their cars for outstanding recalls before retailing them?
Andy Entwistle 96 Posted January 16, 2014 William Check this link, this "should" give you all the recall information for all vehicles in the UK, but i can;t vouch for how accurate this is http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/ A few years ago, when at HPI we did look into trying to incorporate this info into the HPI check, but it proved to be very difficult to get this data and verify the accuracy. It was also near impossible to verify which vehicles had had the work done. So it didn;t really fly. I doubt many non franchise dealers check the vehicles, and i know some franchises that don;t either !
