nigeldalley 1 Posted April 27, 2017 Quick question, with the advancement of the dvla website in the last few years has anyone found an easy way around not getting a log book with a car bought from auction? I'm finding more and more cars not having log books probably because the main dealers don't want to wait for it to return to them before putting the car in the block. Just wanted to know what other people are doing in this situation as customers invaribly want to see the log book before purchase!! metcars 397 Posted April 27, 2017 This has been mentioned before but they usually do turn up, just after you sell the car. Seriously, hopefully it will be the next thing that they get rid of. It's all done electronically, private punters can inform DVLA of keeper change, just more dead wood. Dealers don't need them and private punters can get a note through the letter box to say they are the new keeper the same as the little note that tells them they are no longer the keeper? It's me 615 Posted April 28, 2017 if its in trade by confirming with dvla on the telyblower then i usually send a cheque off and loggy book comes back before car is ready to retail or if you prefer spend the 25 notes with customer at your local post office (its painted red so you cant miss it) and it goes straight in his/her name confirm above on tellyblower though or PO say NO remember the v5c details are not proof of ownership it just shows who is responsible for insuring and taxing it next Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
