P b p 0 Posted September 18, 2016 Hi just been reading articles on display and use of trade plates, I've just been stopped an hour ago with my trade plates fixed over the top of the vehicles n plates. Been told it's illegal to cover the original plates. I was told the rules had changed and you had to cover the original plates so only one number was showing. ?. Anyone clarify this. Please. Rory RSC 596 Posted September 19, 2016 You can't win can you. That is the technically correct way to use them as I understand it. The alternative is to shove them in the Windows which most police seem to moan about. I think the police have no idea which does not surprise me.
umesh 336 Posted September 19, 2016 Incorrect ! Original plates need to be covered - the coppers are wrong they DO NOT UNDERSTAND the trade plate law ! Look up trade plate use on DVLA Site .. ( Have a feeling this topic was covered on here a wee while ago )
