  1. I may be a newbie but I have a degree in law. Really interesting case here. I personally would fight it, I am not an expert in this area but from what I've seen I think you have a strong case. (As others have rightly mentioned) I would say your main defense is that you CAN prove that the fault was not present at the point of sale. You had an inspection done and a service where diagnostics were run that would have found this fault if it were present. I'm not sure what more you could've done to ensure that the car was without fault. Moreover you have the invoice where he states no fault. If you have all the paperwork showing this I cannot see why you would be in the wrong according to the consumer rights act. His argument would then have to be that you are in collusion with the garage that carried out these tests which is absurd and impossible for him to prove but the burden of proof would be on him to prove that. It gets complicated if you offered a warranty and correct me if I am wrong but no warranty was offered over and above that laid out by the consumer rights act? Hope this helps,
  2. I am no accountant but in my opinion you've got nothing to lose from setting up as a LTD company it's very easy to do, you limit your liability in case things go wrong and you pay less tax.
  3. I think a tech section is a great idea. How to get the most out of online listings, best practices, case studies, helpful tools and tricks. I'm sold
  4. Have you tried this guy: https://www.facebook.com/daniel.finlayson.92/ ?
  5. In answer to your first question i would agree with Phil H, don't lose your cool and stand your ground. I would also suggest knowing your legal position, if you can prove that the fault wasn't there when you sold the car then they really have no leg to stand on. If, as you say you've also offered a warranty then those people are exactly as you suggest 'full on pyschos' and any normal person looking at the cold facts would see you are not in the wrong so don't let them make you feel like you are. If they are aggressive and you are feeling threatened then call the police.
  6. Interesting thread here. In terms of ebay what type of listings do you use? Classified ad seems the best value but not sure if auctions get more attention as people think they can get a deal?
