  1. yes happened to me a few times and arrived late in the post, it is nice given the thousands of cars they sell in a week they still have the thought of sending on these  items if they arrive, Car was obviously sold with no docks so they were within there  wrights to just dispose of the items you received

    Nice one BCA

When forum members say good luck to newbies sometimes I wonder do they mean good luck from the bashing on the forum from a selected few

you aim for 10% profit????  well done  best to aim high

Because I do it as a private seller at the moment I am trying to buy under 5k maybe a bit more for certain cars and sell for 500, maybe 1k profit. (just found a desperate seller that wanted a Skoda Kodiaq that sold me his 12plate Merc c220 82k miles for 3500 and luckily I sold it in 5 days for 4750£)

So you dont declare your trader earnings for tax or NI, you dont have trade plates and you i imagine  use these cars on test drives, You dont put a warranty on them either i imagine, Why dont you pay tax on these earning what makes you so special

  4. Good points and yes of  course i had realised that just because i have  2.5 times the  stock will not equate to 2.5 times the  income, Its far from it, And good point regarding the  Self employed person you are right of course

the unit will help in many ways, Over the 5-6 months autumn and winter i will no longer be weather dependant for  car cleaning, Likewise i will have  clean dry and warm place for customers to view, I have a few personal older classic cars i will be not paying storage on and it add a small element of credibility to a business when you have premises,

  5. Thank you  guys for your input, I think reading your replies there is no one size fits all solution, I think you have to tailor it and make it work for your own set of personal circumstances and that is going to be different for everyone

I will do the maths and see what i think works for me, I really need to concentrate on what makes profit, Buying selling pics and adds, on all the  various platforms, Everything unskilled i would love to have done by someone else

  6. I currently have 8-10 cars any one time ( if its running right) and do everything my self, all buying selling collecting, valets and all the running around, The 10 cars is just about manageable as i usually sell 7-8 and of course the process continues

I have the chance of a 3000 sq ft unit and that will hold 25 cars easy,  I can not see me being able to do my business in the same way ( but maybe i am wrong) I am unsure if i should take a  person on, Who does all collections and valet`s and  all the running around for all the pre sale prep to all the trades that i use, This person would be self employed and basically a gofer / slave who i imagine would cost £1000 a month, This theoretically will mean i am just a buyer and seller of cars and someone else is now flat out doing all the other stuff, Or should i just get everything delivered from my BCA and Manheim purchases and get an outside valet person to do individually the cars i am now getting........................ my predicament is that i see that adding up to over £1000 a month ??? am  missing something

  7. another one that's illegally trading enhancing the black economy, Not paying VAT on the proceeds of there sales

you paid to much my friend, Amatures think they are safe going to these guide prices  thinking i am safe at cap clean, Not on every car you are not, Post a  link and let us  rip your advert to shreds see if there is something obvious

  8. I know you like a constant corporate theme for your pics and that of course makes sense but the light is to low to make the  pictures "pop"  I think you start over, New pics, New wording, Get excited about it again, Sell the car in the add, Minimum of 50 pics for this one i say and then price it to the  market, If its within £500 of a newer shape one then it needs  to be prived even more severe, Doom blue is not for everyone

  9. i think while we would like to be 100% of the time car buyers sellers i also think you have to have ( where you can) some  knowledge of some of the basics of some of the things we outsource, I personally and no car detailer and i have never been trained, But i can mop and  polish various cosmetic issues out of a  panel or car and i think that in turn helps me sell the car, I think my (limited) skills with a DA Polisher have saved me over £500 this year, Things that previously would have gone to my paint man, My machine, Pads and compounds cost less than £100 4 years ago, As we  know  Black is going to show everything and silver may hide everything, I think a few hours with a machine polisher going over the worst areas and can sell it with confidence
