I am very annoyed you think you can waltz in here and start spamming our forums, Please refrain from this activity, This is a serious forum for professional motor dealers not some place you can sell your Gym and Beauty treatments, Now unless you have something you want to add directly in line with Car Sales please go and copy and paste your opening statement some where else

Thanks all for your input, I seem to running into no motor trade, no motor trade when I enquire on units in my price Range.

But hey ho onwards and upwards

Look at rural developments, farm estates etc. It's very difficult to find something in a city.

Hold your horses lads - had a “something has come up and will be back in touch shortly” text.

I’ll let you all know if I take this beast in, but I’m not holding my breath...

'kin hell, not only are punters "off to have a think" but the dealers are at it as well ;)

    Absolutely /\ /\ /\

Any business in the UK can set it's own terms and conditions, and provided this is worded correctly and the purchaser has signed it to say they agree to the T&C's, then the said purchaser is bound by those terms, that is what "express clause of the agreement" means in plain Engleesh ;)

    HTH,

Ok, well I have zero experience of this so I can't really form a strong opinion! I'd say looking at it from the "end of the line" perspective, i.e. court, if a judge was to interpret the law as read, it is pretty clear we're in the chair for cost of recovery back to us. It's not something I personally would be willing to test in court! Hopefully I won't have to :)

"Perhaps his mother has been passed around the trade like a rag doll "

brave words from behind your KB

Take photos of the damage, point it out on the advert, price it £500 below what you would if it were immaculate and sell it as is.

Ok therefore bca are in breach of this with just about 50 percent of the stuff they sell then? Laws are a great thing but whether it would stand up in court is another thing. Police round here cant even make a speeding find stand up in court most times.

    BCA don’t retail cars.

I see what you’re saying and I think as long as you’re getting a piece of paper signed that states the buyer is aware it’s SOR and that it must be trailered away, whether they drive it or trailer it is their business. You can’t force someone to get a trailer. They could tell you they have one parked up outside, out of your sight. What are you supposed to do, force them to drive it onto a trailer? Course not.

I would say however that selling a car for £1250 as SOR when it’s retail price is say £1900 could be viewed by TS as an attempt to circumvent the law (CRA)

Not that it stops hoards of supermarket car traders doing exactly that.
