  1. I have spoke to Natalie myself, she was more than helpful, but I am out of her area, but thanks all the same, much appreciated. I am attempting to do it myself online, it seems to be a different form than last time I tried it. It is asking for 'Details of auditor/reporting accountant' - Is that just my accountant or something completely different?
  2. Spoke to natalie, she put me in to contact with my local rep, who I haven't heard back from. Close brothers have been sending someone out to me for 6 months.
  3. Has anyone used a 3rd party company to help with the FCA approval system? I trade from home at the moment on a party time basis, typically LCV's and minibuses between 3-6 years old, values ranging from 8-12k. Vat registered limited company, approaching the end of my first years trading. I think having the opportunity to offer finance will help sales, however, im struggling to get any of the finance companies to help. Is there a company any of you has used? Im getting to the point where I would rather pay someone a one off fee just to get it sorted so it will speed the process up for me. Flippingcars.co.uk offers it for £500+vat, does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks Dane
  4. Hi Natalie, I would be interested in speaking to someone in the northwest, (liverpool/manchester area) about being able to offer finance and doing the FCA. Mainly do LCV's around 8-12k price, vat register. Thanks Dane
  5. what percentages are you guys paying for card payments?
  6. Thanks mate I'll give them a go, local to me too!
  7. Yeah it just says put in your postcode for the closest broker, the first reply is something to do with mortgages. i spoke to another company before and wouldn't touch me for minibuses over 8 seats and she reckons there is only tradex who will offer that cover
  8. home trader do I speak to them directly? the website is pointing me to a local broker?
  9. Can anyone recommend a trade insurance provider that is reasonably priced? i was with tradex/clegg Gifford this year but renewal has literally doubled. I did have an 'accident'. Literally touched a car, zero damage to either vehicle, driver is now trying to claim whiplash, so that's going to be investigated, so I understand it may go up cause of this, but I think going up by £3600 is a bit much? any input is appreciated
  10. I looked in to this myself, from memory, you only didn't charge the VAT if he is VAT registered in Malta and provided all his information and signed the necessary paperwork, he would then have to pay VAT to malta when it arrived. there is a part on government website that explains it. if he is private then from memory he has to pay it.
  11. no mate it was haydock on a Friday morning sale. In all honesty I would never buy another non runner due to how manheim handle them. There was another none runner parked next to it very close by so I asked them to move it, along came a forklift, they just put the forks under the vehicle wherever they wanted to and dragged it out the way. A simple none runner fix could cost more to fix than the damage they have caused moving it around the yard. I would be surprised, it isn't the cleanest example. If I was in the auction room I wouldn't of bought it, the online pictures didn't really represent it very well. You live and learn!
  12. The vehicles are after only seem to be in japan, small coachbuilt motorhomes on a diesel 4x4 chassis, they'll be for myself as opposed to selling them on. there a chap in Bristol who imports them but they seem to be a lot of money from him.... Or to be fair, maybe they aren't, but that's why I would like to find out the true cost of one to compare the difference
  13. Can any of you suggest the best place to get shut of a none runner? Its a 2009 Hyundai i800, bit of an impulse buy from Manheim (as a non runner), bought it months ago and haven't done a thing with it. Just want to cut my losses. Is it better going back to manheim, co-part, car-transplants or another? Thanks in advance
  14. will do mate thanks Do you mind saying how you went about it?
  15. Do any of you guys have any 1st hand experience of importing from Japan? I would like to look into the possibility of bringing over a few vehicles for my self rather than to sell on, particular the small coachbuilt motorhomes they do, like the Toyota toyace? Thanks!
  16. I tried Merthyr Auctions in wales last week, have to put a 2k deposit down to bid. I was interested in a minibus that was going through, Id probably look to sell it for £8500, sold loads of them this year, went through the block at £9750, then there was about £700 in fees on top of that, plus delivery!!
  17. I think it would cost the majority of that to bring it back. Obviously unless you drop on a customer wanting going back the other way which would be few and far between
  18. Sorry mate I'm not quite sure I follow what you mean?
  19. Thanks for the detailed reply mate, gave me something to think about. I've also inquired about camper van hire, insurance is a fraction of the cost of traditional van hire. Dane
  20. Just wondering if any of you guys do any vehicle hire along side the sales? I currently sell LCVs part and hoping to go full time this year. I have been considering weather to open a vehicle rental from the same premises. It seems it is difficult to start off in this game insurance wise with not many companies offering the insurance, and the ones that do are in the region of £25k p.a for 5 vehicles. Is it worth it? The local companies seem to be busy every time I've had any involvement in trying to rent a van...
  21. what power are the 5.0 mustangs pushing out?
  22. I'll give them a call tomorrow, much appreciated
  23. I'll try them again but I'm pretty sure they wasn't interested because I didn't have a sales pitch and a website. I can sort the website easy enough just haven't needed one just yet. Thanks for the input mate
  24. Hi All, I have been trading just under a year from home, vat registered limited company. I mainly deal in commercials, majority being minibuses, generally 3-5 year old, in the 8-12k price range. If I was to become FCA approved, would any lenders deal with me, with the fact I'm a home trader? i only currently do it part time as I work full time in construction. I want to add the flexibility of finance to the sales to hopefully wider my audience as they aren't cheap vans. Then hopefully look at doing it full time and move to a proper sales pitch. thanks in advance
