What about registering a car to a customer if you only have the NKS - can this process be reversed?

Providing the car is in trade then I would presume yes. Just remove the 1st number from the ref on the green slip. Never tried it this way before though

    Possibly who are MFL?

    www.mfldirect.co.uk

You will need an account with them to buy. Be careful as a lot of the cars are expensive but you can buy significantly below book if you are patient.

Also, condition of the cars can be an issue, but you can claim for damage (Not smart repairs or Alloy Refurbs) and you can reject the purchase if they do not accept an agreeable (to you) claim value.

No, I tried that and it just tells you that they are all on AT and Profile Page - if you then go back to the summary, it says Yes on some and Capped on others.  Used to be able to just uncheck one car and then check another on the same page.

That's strange. It works as it always did for me ?

Can anyone tell me how you now swap adverts between cars.  I stock about 14 cars and have 5+2 package, regularly swapping stock around so they all get some exposure?

Can't find out how to do it on this new shitstym.

Mark, you need to click on "Quick Edit" which is on the main stock page at the top left. This then gives you the screen where you can quickly tick or untick as appropriate.

WBAC don’t need profit on the unit.

if they get back what they paid and parent company BCA gets their £300ish buyers fee and they can do that several thousand times in a day it’s a great business model.

But WBAC often makes huge profit on the metal also. The beauty of auctions I guess :-)))

£13.7m profit in the latest accounts... Not a bad model I guess.

  6. Hi Umesh

I sell most of my cars from AT. I would say 2nd place is CarGurus. We more than cover its cost every month. We pick up the odd 1 or 2 from Find and Fund but that's free so fair enough.

Carsnip is the one for me that I cant seem to quantify. I think I will be switching it off after this month to be fair.

Not on any of the others so cannot comment.

Spec check is handy but don’t trust it for Land Rover / Range Rover as it often adds and misses items.

Sign up for Topix as an independent operator. You can get full spec for JLR products with the chassis number.

  8. The thing is, we all take in good part exchanges that maybe don't fit the stock profile for whatever reason, and you just want your money back so that you can reinvest in what works for you. However, we are all suspicious as to why a trader wants to block a car or trade it on, so we pass up on it thinking we will be into it for buckets when in reality there is not much wrong with it. I am sure I have turned down many a profit opportunity because of this

  9. Blimey, OK

What you need to do is liquidate those cars at the right market value ASAP. They will not get any better. Don't make the mistake of holding out for higher prices because they owe you so much. You need that money back to invest into profitable stock.

You also need to think about your purchasing strategy. I would stop buying altogether until you are confident that you are buying at the right prices. Do not throw good money after bad.

  10. That's all well and good Lucas. The tipping point for a Great Price label on AT for that car/mileage is £11,074. Did you know that when you bought it, because that's a big difference from £13,500 ?

Its a cliché but you make your money when you buy, not when you sell in this game.

    Good luck

  11. Hi Lucas,

How did you price the car ? Is £13,500 the price you are going to advertise it for ? Is 95k the correct mileage, because if it is that looks well over the market price to me ?

Certainly not looking to kill your enthusiasm, but the pricing is key to a quick turnover. That doesn't mean you have to be the cheapest BTW, but you do need to make sure that customers looking for that type of vehicle/mileage find your car in a search.

    Best of luck
