I agree the platform is very good. There tendancy to call you if you dont accept the quote in 5 minutes not so good.

Funnily enough i asked one of the guys about doing work outside move x in future. He didnt seem to interest and just said its not worth the hassle with the choice of jobs on move x glad you have found someone.

I personally don't mind the phone call.  Similar to the phone call from BCA after you buy something, I don't mind that either.

Not gonna lie though, if they didn't phone I wouldn't mind that either haha.   Just not overly fussed.  But I do like a chat so I suppose I might miss the phone calls eventually and start ringing them haha.

Put it on Shiply and Move X.

Move X is my preferred and normally cheaper but i found a very good chap through shiply i used for over a year for copart cars unfortunately he isnt fast enough for BCA stuff.

    +1 Movex.

It sounds trivial but I save about £20 on average from my transportation costs, I've found a very good transporter who I use direct now ( no telling, or you'll all use them and I won't get my cars! HAHA! )

That saving pays for just over half of one of my valeters a year! :D

Movex is simple and easy to use, it takes less than 2 minutes per job posting.

No rubbish now.  Smell has already returned, yet with now a exotic cat smell tinge.

Turned back to the Atom Machine from Euro Car Parts.  Will update with how it gets on.

Unless you want to spend 12k, Plus subscriptions... i wouldn’t bother.

Thanks for all the responses, really appreciate them all!

So I started searching around and it seems the vast majority of the key programming specialists use an AD100Pro as it has all licences separately and starts from £1,495.  Then after speaking to a few of the suppliers in the industry found they would recommend to "upgrade" to a zed full or a smart pro which were £3,500 and included 3 months free unlimited "tokens" (normally £15 a pop).

Booked in for demos on all 3 so I'll let you know how that goes.

We've got a snap modis ultra but my guys said it can't do keyless entry and proximity keys, etc?

I'll get on the phone to snap on, just in case they're not doing something right.

How many keys will you being doing to save on the costs?

If the costs of software(s) is high then you will need to do a lot of keys to claw your money back and only then you will be saving on key programming minus any subscriptions...plus you will be paying for the fob and blades plus cutting

Rather use a mobile guy or a local Indy

I know some folks are keen to provide 2 keys but most are happy with "if it came with one it goes with one"

Well we're charged £140+ VAT upward depending on make / model / key on keyless entry vehicles from our local key guy.

Worked out we would be saving if we did 15.6 vehicles let alone advertising doing keys ourselves now.  We average around 40 keys per year where customers request it as part of the sale ( Although sometimes we can do a 50/50 contribution on a new key with a customer. ) and get asked for roughly 20 or so per year.

It's a £100 minimum saving per vehicle so I'm willing to make a considerable investment to reduce my overheads and from the prices I've been quoted thus far would see a ROI in the first year.

will they offer me anything as they haven't followed protocol properly really.

You'll soon learn about AT... They don't give anything away, even if it's their F**k up.

They give advertising platforms a bad name hahaha.

I do love the will you take next to nothing offers.

Had a really sticky motor the other month and some chap made me an offer £750 below the asking price on a 3k car and even when i said yes he never turned up and went all quite. They are definitely UWOTS

Sold it soon after for £2900

    Haha yeah typical.

Love to see my name branding is catching on haha  :lol::lol:

  7. I think I jinxed it as I've had another 2 this morning / last night.

    Ebay... Again...

I've got a budget of 4k, I really like the corsa that's up for 6,700, can we do something? - - Felt like saying, "Well I can continue to advertise my car like normal and you can look for a car within your budget."

Hey mate, will you take £9,000 for your Golf R Line?...  It's up for £12,700... This one I messaged back saying, "No problem you can put as little or as much down as a deposit."

  8. So 2 chances within 30 minutes of each other...  We actually label these people as UWOT's now.  (Ultimate Waste Of Time).  I do take credit for that haha

So first vehicle, Golf GTD Auto in white up for £15,500... Will you take £12k?... Action: Deleted

2nd Vehicle, R/R Disco Sport, up for £22,700... Will you take £18,500 cash?... Action: Deleted

Gotta love these people, I get a smile every time as I just think they go round in their own little world never buying anything and thinking... Oooh I nearly had that.  They probably haggle in Tesco saying they're paying cash so need a couple of pound off their Strongbow :lol::lol:

A lot of valid points there And I agree though a lot of the guys I've worked for over the years now have managers running the business whilst they get rewards from it holidays to Spain etc 6 times a year or still have there car sales but went in a different direction and set up other companies doing different stuff like renting houses out etc don't get me wrong they do deserve it having being fully hands on for years . Still hands on but being rewarded for there hard work how

Another thing to bear in mind is some people will now be saving for Christmas at this time of year and making there old car do them with those on monthly pay only got 3 or 4 wages left .

I've seen a mad rush in late January earlier February before

Yup, but just as a heads up take advantage of promotions such as Buy Now - Start Paying in 6 months, should help you squeeze an extra few over the line each month running upto Dec :D

Forget all the "up your game" online coach stuff going on here the fact remains: it is quiet at the moment.

    This made me chuckle.

I don't see the huge difference in this period (Aug-Sep) from the last many years I've been doing this.  It's the period we're in.

I mentioned before some may do extremely well as it will be the right car, the right price at the right time for the right buyer.  We all have moments like that, it's a tremendous feeling.

The only thing I've noticed that is different, is the amount of good quality stock available at the moment.  That i turn has driven the prices up tremendously as we've all seen and the fact that there are some new "BIG" players in the used car market so they are no longer entering stock through the AH and are in turn reselling their own P/ex's as well as buying stock from the AH themselves.

It will all settle down and it will all pick up, there is no need for a major panick or conspiracy theory about Brexit and the likes, it's just the way business goes.  Take the Highs with the Lows.

Of course in your spare time review prices, review pictures, review articles, adverts, etc...  In my eyes, "Those that run a business and have spare time are not running a business correctly".

    Just my 2 cents

I'm in the same boat at the moment.  We used to use some kind of chemical burn, comes in a tin, you place it on the floor for about an hour and let the burning chemicals do their magic.  I just can't for the life of me remember what the thing was called!!  It was pretty good to.

I'm going to have another look around today as we need some more so if I find it i'll post a link.

Honestly the worst thing anyone can do is follow Cap. As the auctioneers always say - 'Throw away the book on this one'.

Its miles out, absolutely miles on out anything.

I've been pondering on the idea that BCA and Manheim stopped feeding data to CAP awhile ago now, which kinda makes sense.

Actually Managed to win another one £1000 below cap.

Never mind the fact its smoking like there is no tomorrow. Dont even think it was driven through the Hall  :D:D

Just walked out of Aston Barclay Chelmsford. Wanted an a5 cap clean £7600 went for £8650

saw a lovely c4 grand Picasso in white wanted to pay £4700 went for £5800.

i took myself and my coffee back to the car park pronto!

It's amazing me where there's a profit at the prices they are making.  Absolutely insane, literally insane, I'm actually mind boggled.

Don't blame you.  Gonna veto this week myself haha.

    =======================================

Actual UPDATE!!! Just got one!!! First one in like 10 days haha

Wasn't on my list but a little cheapy, DS4 HDi Sport in white.  I feel like a fisherman that's just hooked it's first marlin

  16. Prices have started this week strong, not much making less than CC.

Retail prices seem to have gone up mainly on the Ford Range (Edge's, Focus's)

Not quite sure what's going on as it's never really gone on for this long before.  I mean the AH's are so confident of getting silly money that they're starting the bid at more or less CC regardless of the grade, SH, owners, etc.  Madness.

I bought a late ish 208 out of boredom the other day from Manheim. Low miles and ownership, good history. Left a ‘bid not to buy’ by proxy on it and a few other cars. Was amazed later when the email comes through as was well behind book

What I didn’t notice was the ‘multiple unrecorded damage’ bit (as it was in a run of other cars I’d been looking at all grade 3 and above) It only had a couple of photos. I clearly confused it with one of the other cars or, more likely, was just not paying attention

Anyway-It only needs about 800 quids worth of paint, EML sorting (bound to be the chain). All wheels doing and the clutch is high.

What a div. oh well, serves me right :o)

Haha I've done the same before, mine was a little bit more stupid confusing a Grade 3 with a Grade 5...  Eyes playing tricks on me and me not double checking by viewing the report.

VX Corsa Ltd Edt, every panel dented, interior solid, all exterior lights smashed and 1 mirror.  Ended up a grand into it while paying around CAP average.  Make maters worse, the bloody thing sat there for around a year too.

End of the day we all make mistakes and as long as you can take stock with your own errors and laugh at yourself for being an absolute lemon then you're doing ok.
