Been lurking for a while, but here goes... I'm interested on hearing views on dealer email marketing. Just about every other industry likes to collect email addresses for updates etc on their websites but I don’t see this on many dealer websites... I can see that perhaps emails might be more effective for MOT / servicing reminders but what about stock updates? In the spirit of full disclosure, I work in digital marketing but am just trying to get a handle on how the trade uses email. I had a word with James and he gave me the green light to ask. Any thoughts, opinions, tactics? Thanks in advance Bonus feature: up for answering any digital related questions if you have any. Drop me a PM. My way of saying thanks for helping me out.

I had to learn it all from scratch and make mistakes on the way and learn from them. 5 years later I think I have just about sussed the majority of it ;). Take a look in the car dealer mag as there are loads of trade contacts who you can call and approach. That would be my advice. I would also say although the active members on this forum are very friendly and open, i don't think many of them will want to disclose what they have taken years to learn and (in some cases :P) perfect. I mean, all the questions you have asked are many key features on how to be successful in this field. All the best, James

Well BCA have called this morning and agreed with my points raised with them. They've offered to take the car back but the rest of the car is a nice clean thing so we've entered negotiations on a bit of good will. My faith have been restored.........
