PRESTIGEPERFORMANCE 0 Posted February 22, 2020 (edited) Hi there guys I was wondering if anyone who's had experience with the JLR Pathfinder software could help me out with this question so I've currently got a stolen recovered RR SPORT L494 2019 and as you can imagine the car was stripped out, ive replaced all the ecus but obviously they need programming, ive heard that the JLR pathfinder can do this, Ive sourced a doip VCI online but i'm wondering if you need to pay a topix subscription to program the modules ( second hand ecus). if so which subscription would I require 1. The cheaper of the two, Document subscription 2. independent module programming, which cost more than double the first option!! Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you Edited February 22, 2020 by PRESTIGEPERFORMANCE
LRD 0 Posted February 22, 2020 Hi My first post, been reading the forum for the last 6 months or so but not got around to posting. I run a Land Rovers workshop, based in the East Midlands specialising in Land / Range Rover Diagnostic work and Defender sales. ECU's can only be programmed from new and cannot be re written. You have a mammoth task ahead. You will need a Laptop, Pathfinder program, DOIP VCI, Topix account with document, programming and probably security subscriptions and then a lot of patience. Drop me a line if you need anymore information.

Ooh that is a little strange because we had a few ecus programmed by a guy with path finder and he managed to do it fine where would I get a security subscription as it does not give me the option online
LRD 0 Posted February 22, 2020 Hi You have to apply to JLR Technical support for approval.

LRD 0 Posted February 22, 2020 It will take them about a week to respond. Have you opened a Topix account ?, they will then want all your business details, Co number, VAT number, trading address, business profile etc, then they roll the Tea leaves and may make a decision. Don't mention anything to do with Remapping or EGR deletes, anything like that is a automatic Non approval. Unsure on which modules are VIN locked, certainly the KVM and security modules. If you are on Facebook, there is a JLR SDD / Pathfinder user group, some very clever guys on there. Where about are you located ?
Halfpenny 114 Posted February 22, 2020 (edited) If you can get that thing running you can probably fly on a broomstick. As regards DoIP I don't see why cars that use DoIP can't be fitted with a used ECU. DoIP is essentially automotive ethernet and just a communication protocol. Whether an ECU could be reprogrammed is down to the hardware and software in the individual ECU. It may be that JLR have locked their ECUs from being reprogrammed, but that isn't an attribute of DoIP. Anyway I have always steered clear of RRs - hateful contraptions IMHO and far too easy to lose a shedload of money on. A friend of mine used to be a development engineer at JLR (Gaydon). He didn't have much good to say about the vehicles. Apparently the only engineers that drove JLR vehicles were those that got them as part of the job. All the other engineers drove Hondas and Toyotas and the like Edited February 22, 2020 by Halfpenny

PRESTIGEPERFORMANCE 0 Posted February 29, 2020 Wondering if you could help me on this one i finally plugged in my doip today and it came up with 98 Faults :/!! I managed to get it down but there are a few things I’m struggling on 1. when trying to calibrate Ride height for suspension - I type in the measurements that I have recorded from the wheels -but I get a message saying it’s not within Range Rover tolerance and only gives me a 3mm difference to get right... does anyone know or know where I can find the normal ride height for Range Rover sport svr 2019? 2. on a lot of modules I’m getting a “missing message from communication bus *c/d/f* does anyone know the solution for this? 3. I’ve got an airbag light on but no airbags were deployed and the light won’t reset 4. abs has faults including yaw/longitude sensors etc.. how do I reset this 5. finally, I haven’t paid for an Online subscription for topix programming or diagnostics but it still allowed me update ecus and do diagnostics so what is the point in paying for topix membership thank you!
