Dealer 54 Posted June 14, 2018 Ok, been in stock for approx 6 weeks, used a few times, been test driven etc but today after using it for around 20 miles while waiting at traffic lights it came up with a transmission error message in second gear, wouldn't change up but as we approached traffic lights it went down to neutral and has decided to stay there since. I've disconnected the battery for 20 mins, locked and left the car, all in the hope that it resets itself but to no avail. Anyone on here have any experience with these things? Currently awaiting recovery by the way.
Tim H 16 Posted June 14, 2018 I guess it's too much to hope that you're fixed and on your way.. They can be trouble if the battery is weak, or brake light switch if you're lucky. Do you hear the pump prime when you open the door? Test by getting out, locking it, wait a few minutes, unlock, open the drivers door and listen for the pump priming. If it's not the battery or brake switch, it would be specialist for me.. Sorry I can't help more.. I feel your pain..! Good luck
Dealer 54 Posted June 14, 2018 Tim, you guessed correctly. I've heard about the brake light switch, not heard the pump going but ive read about that too as I've had plenty of time to try and research it myself. Not many specialists like these up my neck of the woods from what I gather.
NOACROSS 414 Posted June 14, 2018 (edited) I had the same on a 500. Was the selector actuator from memory. If you left it a while it would work again. For a bit anyway Three hundred odd quid later at Fiat it was OK. Edited June 14, 2018 by NOACROSS
