07 Fiat Bravo 1.9 Multijet - Difficult to get into reverse
Linctrader replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
Well done Simon on the turn around, it's came up great. Still laughing from the point in the test drive video when you said it's really clean and you looked around the cabin thinking I can't fucking believe this is the same motor lol.. Where are the blue mats? Heehee! -

Is it ready to go yet Simon? I love how folks view everything as disposable these days, granted its no top of the line Merc, but they have still taken an 11 year old car and effectively ran it into the ground, valuing it at zero - yet a little bit of time and money spent gives it value again and it will live another life. This place is starting to sound like 'wheeler dealers'... Old aaaht yer hannnnd! -
Best background colour for exterior photo's ?

Indoors looks really smart Simon, particularly with the car sitting offset from just head on as in the last picture posted. I agree about a logo, it would add another layer of professionalism to your presentation. I've never seen your business card so can't comment but if you are already using it, add it. Should be as simple as opening your car picture in Microsoft paint and cutting and cropping your business card logo into it. (that's how I do it, probably wrong but it works for me) Maybe start just by painting the floor grey and see then if you need to add a fancy flooring. However I like the idea of painting or printing a backdrop, there is an import dealer up north who has something very effective for theirs: -
This is a great post, thanks for all the responses.

I'm missing out... Ffs. I didn't think it could that good for us indys. And a spare ipad every so often wouldnt go a miss! Are blue difficult to get on board with? Prime only or subprime? I guess I could go with close for sub prime and try for blue for prime.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273326843912 I like these and whilst only good enough to last until the car is out the door, they give the impression (to me) that the car has been finished nicely for my arrival (backed up by the car being valeted of course!) -
Cheers Nick, I think I'll give it a whirl as I do get stuff that fits those limits.

Facebook has gone downhill, spend most of my time dodging plastic traders and in as much that they are easy to spot, I just wonder where all the genuine private sellers have gone to? We buy any car most likely lol... Avant looks decebt BTW Simon, I just hate towbars ha! -
Evening! Interested to know your thoughts and experiences with MMA & WOMA - they seem to do lots of commercials and ex emergency service vehicles which I'm keen on. Good and bad, let's hear them. Thanks
-
Sounds good lol... I tend to sell oddball stuff, sometimes a bit older and up the miles, hence my reluctance to get involved.
-
Update us with how you get on, I'm approaching this point now myself and really debating if I want to get involved with finance at all. Thanks

I'm fascinated and tbh admire how they do what they do and keep reinventing themselves. Plus ebay is a nightmare platform but a double edged sword... One of the best known and most used online auction site for the general public but this same public as we know hide behind the screen and can simply walk away if they choose so. And eBay charges fees regardless on both sides with only the listing fee recoverable. I assume the trading standards issues over time have lead them to present what is a trade only stance on their listing. I've read about shill bidding etc which ebay say is illegal but goes on daily in auction halls up and down the country so I struggle to level any judgement against them over that either. Just read that bit again and I see what you mean lol... -

Is the market too difficult to re visit this business model Simon? It's a dealer set up that I have always been fascinated with and just assumed they had massive stocking loans set up with bca and clearly getting the best fee levels. I know they have had to change names over the years and I've read they've had issues with trading standards but to behonest ebay is such a one sided marketplace I totally understand the need for them to perhaps 'work' the system to get it to offer a decent return. But I do view it from a point of admiration so would love to know how they make it work - or how you made it work! -
Sorted - refunding me. Cheers all.

Classic car mot exemption after 40 yrs...

Car is roadworthy, he's just wishing to take advantage of a legal way to save some money/time... -
I've just done this for a clients car at the same time as applying for their road tax exemption. However whilst it tells me the car is now taxed, we have had no confirmation that the car is registered as mot exempt. Its still showing in red that the car has no current mot. My head says this is correct, the car has no mot and if we wanted to do one we could still and that would show up as having one (no chance!) But surely there is some way to prove the car is now registered with dvla as mot exempt and should my client ever wish to sell he is able to show this to a prospective buyer? Or don't they notify anyone when you apply - you just apply for exemption and that's that? Cheers.

Don't give up on them yet, both look like proper cars, well speced and presented (diamond cut wheels refurbed on clio as an example ffs). Change a bit of the flannel as others have said but I would spend £25 on each on a targeted Facebook advert and see how you go. Perfect for a little dog (or big dog if it's the bigasso) Handy if you like to buy furniture to do up Extra space for grandkids bikes etc. Has to be worth 50 notes before you try anything more drastic.

See both of those cars appeal to me aesthetically, but then I'm an oddball who likes oddballs... But both are the less popular models in the respective ranges. Though there are buyers for these types of cars, as even munters such as the golf+ sell, perhaps they are lost to your typical customer James? Looking at your other stock it all looks premium. What about some social media direct marketing towards the 50+ age group? I'm being genuine when I say that perhaps some sponsored adverts offering these two specific cars and up selling their features (practical 5 seat mpv with the height and boot space of the vehicle seater but not the wasted space of 2 extra sears for those that don't need it and the mini-estate practicality over a standard clio hatch) might be the next move before dropping the prices.
