  1. *UPDATE*

Thanks everyone for your great and valuable advice.

Thankfully our customer has been really cooperative and genuinely did not know about the mileage discrepancy.

He contacted the dealership that the car was originally purchased from and they agreed to purchase it off me for the P/X price that was originally given.

We are very lucky to have had this sorted out with both the customer and original dealer being good, honest bloke.

Moral of the story is check MOT history manually as a discrepancy will NOT show on a HPI check.

    Good morning all,

    Hope you are all well.

We have just had a customer come in with a P/X, We checked the car with autotrader Experian vehicle check and got a report that declared all checks passed so we purchased there car.

I have now had a look at the MOT history and noticed a major mileage discrepancy of circa 20k miles being taken off.

I have contacted the customer who has told me that he had no knowledge of the discrepancy and had bought the vehicle from a large retailer a couple years ago who did not disclose the discrepancy.

Im really not sure now how to go about this as do not have a huge margin and do not in any case fancy selling a five figure car with a mileage discrepancy.

I would really love to hear any advice which you may may have on how we should proceed?

    Warm Regards,

    Samuel

  3.

    Good morning all,

    Hope everyone is keeping well.

Ive just had a vehicle delivered to us through a third party with a massive stone chip in the windscreen which the driver admitted happened in transit.

In the past other companies have agreed to pay for the repair however this company are saying "We are not paying as stone chips are out of our control".

Am I right to assume they should be held responsible?

Was wondering if anyone has had an issue like this before and how to proceed.

    Thanks in advance!

I am finding prices being being was over valued..

Fiat 500 14 plate around 60k £3.6ku add fees and delivery and youre in at 4k retail value 4.4k car. How is anyone making money on that?

I think majority of the time its the auctioneers bidding off the wall.

Then again there are some strange Dealers around.

On that note can anyone explain how a dealer with every single of his 25+ reviews being 1 star manages to find capital for 60 cars?

Haha Yes, seems like they have are arriving by coach.

What makes these animals wake up and think let me spend my time and fuel going round tyre kicking?

Its frustrating to say the least, especially when my cars are prepped well beyond average and all show a clean mot history .

Any one have any good ways of calling them out without being too aggressive?

Ive been using “what would make you take it now” which tends to shake them up a bit :)

  6. Diesel sales have really slowed down for us the past couple of months which I guess is to be expected with the robbery going on at the petrol pumps.

However some of these cars should have been gone within a week yet 2 months down the line we’re still sitting on them with prices at rock bottom.

    Is everyone experiencing the same?

    Good afternoon guys,

Ive noticed that all cars that are purchased from UKCGR come without any invoices for work carried out which is a shame as some that we have purchased have appeared to have been really cherished.

Is the due to GDPR or is there a way of getting hold of it?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi guys hope you are all well,

Had a car booked in for delivery, through Dealer Portal Moving.

However the night before the EML light came on so had to cancel the move.

Ive just received an invoice from the moving company asking for the full amount (which is double what I’ve been reqouted from another company)

I’m happy to pay the profit margin they had on the move however feel its a bit unfair to be charged full whack.

Where do I stand legally with this invoice?

Look forward to seeing your replys

To many of us, myself included, rely to much on bca/manheim which is helping them keep the prices high. We need to realise there’s more ways of gaining stock. Bca don’t care about us buyers they just want your money and it’s got worse since being online only.

Even recently I’ve seen cars fetching more at bca than I could of bought them for privately advertised on AT/EBay etc, and I could of viewed those in person and had a test drive.

I hear what you are saying and good on you for doing well out of it.

Honestly I’m really fed up of whats going on with BCA, too many a time I’ve been bid up past my reserve only to see the car back on the block because I've been bidding against the wall

I’m just wondering how dealers with 50+ cars are finding their stock as dont think buying privately is near efficient enough. Are they just bidding on anything?

  10. BCA delivery service is very slow and can sometimes be delayed. Best off using a different company to move your vehicles in future. Sometimes more expensive but the trade off is that you can sell your cars in the time it would have taken BCA to deliver it.

  11. Hi guys,

    Hope you are all well.

After starting up a few months ago I’ve really got the hand of this trade and have started doing quite well thanks to the help and advice from you guys.

But the issue I'm having of late is the cars listed on BCA seem to not be of the same quality they were a couple months back and anything decent in there is going for retail money. Meaning I’m wasting hours of my time researching cars that I ultimately don't win.

So the question is, how do you find a large amount of stock with an okay margin whilst making sure what you buy isn't a complete dog efficiently.

On another note. How do you guys ensure you dont miss cars going through on Manheim as, as far as I’m aware there is no app or reminder system as there is with BCA.

Look forward to hearing your responses.

  12. Hi guys,

Just been on the phone with BMW who have told me the only way for me to get service history is by going in to the dealership with a logbook because of GDPR

Does anyone have a way around this?

    Thanks!

  13.

    Thanks guys!

Phew was getting worried I bought a lemon.

I called up BCA to find out a bit more info but you can imagine how much information I got.

Ive bought a few grade 4s due to “poor previous repairs” only to pick them up with absolutely no sign.

Do you reckon some of the bca staff are making fake reports for tips?
