Thanks for your replies! Would selling a car without a V5c be a fair bit harder? I'm sure alot of people would be reluctant to buy a car without a V5c? What if the car isn't registered as trade already? I won't be able to register it as trade since I don't have the V5c number? Excuse my lack of knowledge, pretty new to this game. I'm not on the 80% since I'm just starting out

Right so.. I've bought a car to sell but it didn't come with a logbook as it's a CAT S. Once I've repaired it I'll need a V5c to sell it, as I'm sure many people would find it undesirable to buy a car without a V5c. From what I understand, to get a new V5c, I'll need to fill out a V62. But if fill out the V62 myself, then the car will have an extra registered keeper as the car will go in my name. How can I get a V5c without adding another registered keeper on? If I fill out the V62, will the car go into my name as a registered keeper or will it allow me to bring the car into trade? I hope that makes sense, it makes sense in my head.

Do I have to send the V62 off myself and register it in my name? Would I become another registered keeper?

If I buy a car without a logbook as a trader, filling out a V62 would cause the vehicle to be in my name right? Would I have to sell it without the logbook and ask the buying to fill out a V62? As to avoid haing another registered keeper.
