HI, im after some opinions , maybe some one of you had a similar experience, sorry for a long text hope you enjoy reading:)
So we have sold an automatic Vauxhall Astra 60 plate, had full service history with 60k miles as well as major service done by ourselves which includes timing belt change, gearbox oil, engine oil, filters ect. Mint condition, no doubt.
So customer rang us a month after purchase saying she got some problems with the car, we did send her address of the garage where we serviced the car and said if anything wrong we will fix it if she gets the car there. The customer then disappeared for a month...And after we got a text apologising that she was in the hospital and could not get the car to the garage, but been in local garage and they told she will need fixing transmission and driveshaft which will cost her £1300, so she requested a refund and said she will give us a car back once she got money, we refused and said as one moth gone already we are happy to fix the car, but she said she does not want the car as she got kids to drive around everyday and she cannot wait until it is fixed, so we agreed to give her a replacement car (which we normally don"t) and said that if she still got a problems, she should not carry on driving. After a long discussion we got her a recovery at our own cost (we gave her AA breakdown cover at the time of the sale where she never called) and guess what! someone unscrewed oil filter where engine oil started to leak. No problems at all, gearbox and driveshaft perfect, got report of diagnostics! Then we requested a quote given to her by her own garage which she could not provide! ok never mind we thought we deliver the car and forget, but after 10 days of driving she calling screaming saying she in the middle of the car park cannot switch the gears, should we get recovery and give her refund, so i went there myself with mechanic who serviced the car (he is automatic gearbox specialist), car been there with dead battery and gearstick cover taken off, we switched the batteries and all been in shock as the car drives perfectly, then she started to scream on us, saying she wants money back as she does not like the car ect, started to rev engine as crazy and drove away! she has no evidence of any diagnostics, recoveries ect... and i feel like its not the end of the story as her warranty expires in a week and for some reason she wants a full refund when there is nothing wrong...i am thinking to get a lawyers advice, what is your thoughts?
