  1. Hi there lads

Was wondering if you could help me with a good car lift ramp supplier?

Need a lift for a second premises and the lad who I brought the first lift off tried to upsell me a ramp, and these were his words “ yeah mate the one I sold you last year was cr*p so you don’t want that anymore, I was strapped on cash and they were cheap and from Poland so I sold them for a little while until I made some more money but this ramp is amazing”. So definitely not going to him again :)

Any suggestions? Northwest would be ideal

  2. Hi guys with the rising cost of fuel I have started to look into fuel cards, even though they only give on average 3p per litre discount- it adds up!

So I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on which is the best one to go for

Yeah, I have the original key (broken) and the Julian number. But it still had to be ordered from Germany. None available on the shelf. The issue is a gorilla with an air gun overtightening everything!

Try a different dealership, there’s always one who has them in stock

Can anyone tell me what the procedure is for getting a replacement locking wheel key for a Fiesta mk7? Can I just drop in to Ford parts or will it have to be ordered?

Have got loads of these of dealers, just go into parts and ask for a replacement, if you have the current one now and it’s damaged take that in as it usually has a letter to inform the dealer I.e. D, F,G printed on the inside

Isn't that about 50% cheaper than usual?

Hmm I have noticed that on the only launch website that looks legit it’s twice as much but I did get this message off the seller:

We are Launch authorized dealer on Amazon.
All LAUNCH products we sell on Amazon are original and can be registered on LAUNCH official website,

Does appear cheap at £799 , must say .

Try an update online , if its a non genuine it will chuck you out instantly , Stolen and it will chuck you out too .

Well it’s got all the latest firmware downloaded

plugged it into my 2014 s4 and it started downloading files for online coding, but I haven’t tried coding anything with it as of right now

Bit risky buying this sort of kit online in my thinking , we always go with a parts supplier that has access to such as Launch  / Snap on or MAC Tools for various Diagnostics .

Not only do you get Genuine stuff but they also have free updates , Courses at your premises free , Loans if needed , All great value add ons .

Just really hope its genuine what you have though , all the best

There was only one launch retailer I could find online and they were out of stock so went on Amazon and it looks like they have a professional Launch store so I went with them...

Cleared an A35 Airbag light today and nothing went wrong so that’s a good sign but let’s hope it stays positive lol

Have you attempted to connect to the launch web site for an ‘update’?  That’s where ‘clones’ usually show themselves?

I can’t seem to locate the online login to update,

I know on the x431 App it’s allowed me to update to the latest software but then again that can just be cloned software

  8. Hi guys

was wondering if you guys could shed some light on this- I’ve just received a Launch X431 v4 from Amazon, is there any way to check if it’s genuine? as I’m starting to have my doubts

the Amazon store looks certified but there’s certain things like the product picking up the wrong model and show 35 faults for a vehicle which only shows a fuse fault on the instrument cluster...

    This is the product..

LAUNCH X431 V (X431 Pro) Bi-Directional OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner, Key Fob Programming, ECU Coding, ABS Bleeding Brake, Reset Functions Including Oil Reset, EPB, SAS, DPF, BMS, SRS, TPMS https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01G5BA9LW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_XMF97553M1D2H3MCWB93?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

  9. Hi there fellas,

I was looking to upgrade my Snapon OBD scanner (ethos Edge upto 2017 cars) for something a little newer that will let me read ECUs and clear the faults, if it could program and calibrate that would be a bonus too.
which 2021 Hardware do you guys suggest or do you use that’s good?

I already have Dealer level JLR software so them cars aren’t an issue but all these new cars communicate differently if I’m correct.

£1,000 less , with wife and daughter + motorbikes on bussniess and social , Two high performance cars as private cars too as well as 4 private bikes .

    kids are older though

I tried insuring my m5 comp on my policy and for some reason they kicked up a fuss saying that it’s too high risk, even though I’ve got no restrictions and I deal in performance motors. no other car has ever had this problem. Maybe it’s because I put a private reg on it

If you don’t mind me asking who are you insured with, David?

Who u both using Ive been looking for an any driver policy on all my cars but also one that covers me to drive other cars fully comp for trade  social domestic and pleasure my old boss had one but not sure who it was with cant mind how it was worded was something like any friend relative associate employee part or full time or on a employee self employed or any person with permission of mr boss man so basically anyone on his so so could drive his cars from social business trade and personal and it it also stated he and his wife could drive any car with the owners permissions for all the above

I’m with Ageas, and In my first year with them they said they couldn’t do such a thing but after an error due to my insurance broker I “Requested” an any driver policy or I’m switching brokers and they were happy to accommodate at the same price...

Im pretty sure any of our policies don’t allow us to “drive any car” as all the previous policies I’ve held state the vehicles need to be in my name or my business name in order for me to drive SDP

To be honest, our launch is good enough. We have used our KTS on pass thru to VIDA and aside from software updates.... the launch does everything that VIDA offers.

Do you know if you’ve got an option for VCM battery replacement?

LOL you're lucky, I had 3 of those K & D Can Cables, first one wouldn't connect with fuck all, second one was OK until it decided not to work, 3rd one was hit and miss, I ended up buying the ICOM ;)

Comes with the F/O adaptor too and works like a champ B) ....

Yeah then K and D can cables are terrible, luckily this is my second one and it’s doing good so far but the ENET cables for f series are always bang on

but can’t go wrong with an Icom :D

Do you know the short code for the module?
they can usually be coded in seconds

If you jump on Esys it’s pretty simple with a £10-20 cable

I know fuck all about Volvo's never touch the bastards, but, (if this thing has one),  would this be the "Intelligent Charge Module" that other cars have ?

Usually they can be reset, (on other Cars) ;)

I believe it works as a backup battery in case your main battery dies or is damaged in an accident- I find it to be very stupid that once the battery completely dies it doesn’t recharge

I've read that all Volvo have to do is reset the system by saying the battery has been replaced without replacing the batt and it’ll fix the problem - but of course the stealership won’t do that

I misread Half penny’s comment, so if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know

  16. 8 minutes ago, Halfpenny said:

Not sure what 'module' they are refering to. IIRC the main battery is in the boot and the auxiliary battery is at the front on the V90 - either in the engine compartment or at the base of the windscreen. In a box. They are a small 10Ah AGM battery. After installing a new one you need to drive the car at least half an hour and the warning should go. Don't know why there would be £200 labour unless there is some other problem.

They’re basically charging me an hours labour to unplug and Replug the new battery. He basically said to me £93 for the battery and then labour with vat which is 200 odd  + vat.

right that’s perfect I’ll have a look tomorrow as I believe the battery that needs replacing is only small

    Thank you Half penny :)

  17. Hi there fellas

I obviously don’t expect a reply to my question in this public forum so any private messages would be greatly Appreciated.

So I’ve recently just snapped up a Volvo V90 19 plate and after having the battery off and then reconnecting it I’ve got a “Volvo in call service required” error on the dash. Now Ive got Volvo assistance to come out but they couldn’t find any faults so then the dealer told me to bring it in to see if they can fix it on the spot.

turns out it was unplugged for too long and that completely depleted the backup battery. Now because I’ve taken off the battery they won’t cover it under warranty.
They’ve priced me up at £93 for the module and about 200 odd quid for labour + vat.
Does anyone know where this back up battery is located and if it’s possible to recharge them somehow- I don’t mind paying for a new battery but 200 odd for labour is a rip off.

I was actually quite surprised as the tech told me that the battery was disconnected 3 days ago and that the main battery has only ever been fully charged once so it got me wondering what else does the software show up

Got it on charge overnight but does anyone know where these modules are located

  18. Hi there lads was wondering if someone could help me with this one; so I know we’re allowed to sell our cars through click and collect but in terms of prepping the cars where do we stand.

Are we still allowed to go out and send off V62s, still go on road tests, go pick up parts etc
