you're proving a real hit on here, threatening people whilst calling others racist/redneck. BTW it's bought not brought

Well well, there was no threat in what i said. Isit me or is this forum full of arrogant people who misinterpret?

All I inclined to your friend was am a little old fashioned and I really don't do the whole hide behind the monitor and talk a load of rubbish. It's simple really if you won't say something to someone in person or over the phone then don't say it online - this should be taught to Today's society...

Am not responsible for a lifeless numpty who misinterprets and takes everything out of context.

I just endeavoured to explain it to him in a range of different ways...but looks like he's disappeared (after appearing online several times) and sent you to fight his battles.

Just for your information because you're sitting behind a screen it doesnt mean you can hide and say / do what you like

And a word of advice: playing hard man on here whilst boasting your business online isnt wise... piss off some nutter and you won't be worried about "threats" your entire stock might be gone in 60 seconds....

    Well there you.

The old saying in getting a partner is "you end up with someone similar to you". Same can apply for cocky little traders that get the cocky customers.

    Karma eh?

I know... but I didn't remove any ads he said he is local and didn't have cash on him in person. He was only 6 miles away to be fair, but turned up later than he said he will. Always a tell tale sign...

It's just all the genuineness people express and show...and then I don't know what happens to them. Lol.

Fair enough if he didn't like me or the price was too high, but it wasn't like that. From my background of work I can adjust and get on any "level" with a person and people find it easy to talk to me - for business and pleasure.

Usual rednecks? Is that for daring to question your opinion?  Indeed every culture does but with Asians its the 99% that spoil it for 1%, I'm not racist I speak as i find

"Loyal" members on the forum point the obvious that I have just joined, but they forget people may browse and / or have more than one alias...

Well it seems like that with Asians because they are a minority compared to the whites. Just like how the polish are a minority to Asian...

"99%" is a pure and simple stereotype am afraid...shows there's a lot of narrow minded "dealers" (squealers) on here...

99% is 99 out of EVERY SINGLE 100 Asian.... this includes but not limited to; old, young, middle aged, teen, professional, athlete - that is a ridiculous statement to be honest.

You know it's a 2 way street, and that's in life not just with trading but with anything, so if you're going to hold such views of "99%" then am afraid you deserve all the shite that comes through your door...

    Case dismissed

Duly noted, dad. Apologies for any offence caused; I was just joining in the discussion you started. You should have said at the beginning you only want contributions from people that agree with you.

Fact is, you've been on the forum a week now and you clearly know nothing about me or anyone else on here. But we've certainly found out a lot about you. So, in future, I'll keep my contrary opinions and judgements to myself. In the hope that you might do the same.

    There you again assuming again.

Like I said keep hiding behind the monitor son. Alternatively, put money where your mouth is and drop me your number and let's see what you got to say for yourself. Would love to pay you a visit see what you got to say in person....

Oh yes the big dealer, behind a screen, rolling in the big bucks yet been on here for 4 years? haha actions do speak louder than words.

Like I said put money where your mouth is or alternatively continue your little petty jibes on the internet zzz

Thank you very for your support mate it's getting sorted be ready tomorrow now clutch new turbo be happy to get the money back we learn by mistakes thanks again

    We sure do.

One thing I forgot to mention is that you might have brought the car that was either private or put in through by another trader - hence it conked out on you.

Manheim, like BCA, will have different types of auctions and you might want to learn the type of auctions they are (e.g. where do the cars come from) and whether they come with inspection / mechanical reports.

I have just about learnt the BCA stuff and can't be doing with Manheim at the moment hence I gave them a miss for now at least.

Also the issue with bidding online is you can't see / hear the car in person. You miss out on when they start the car up, drive it, stop, any smoke, small noises, clutch movements etc etc.

It was cheap in the hall cos it wasn't wanted. We've all been taken by the temptation of a low price, but as for it being below forecourt price that must mean with regards to CAP figures - if I relied upon their valuations on 50% of cars I'd be in the poor house.

We all do it, but this is your second. I wouldn't rush to make it a third.

    Certainly won't.

Had a chap come round the other day, he wanted me to drive it for him and I insisted he should as he's wanting to part with £7k and it's only fair (general rule of politeness & fair treatment so they can't say it was faulty after the brought it).

Anyway, he drove it and loved it. He wanted something a little more off the price, £800 from the asking price and after some negotiation both were happy with a £500 reduction. He said he will be back the next morning but disappeared since... ;)

I would still walk away with more than a grand of profit after giving him £500 off... fish slipped out of my net!

There's one petrolhead out there... I know it!

Sorry, but isn't this part of the risks of buying at auction & the reason retail customers pay us a wage?

It's shite when you buy a knacker but the way I see it is it's part of the game & you have to get on with it.

Certainly is. I do grit my teeth when I bid online sometimes as you can't see / hear it in person so the risks of it breaking down / big problems are higher. Sometimes I got them cheap and when I went round to pick them up they seem fine to me.

  9. Nice to see the usual red necks playing the race card...

In fairness it can be said every culture / colour has it's fair share of idiots. Had 3 tattooed plonks in their trackies, caps, and black shoe/trainers...from the the north come the other day, revving the shit out of a diesel... and haggling over £100.... the excuses they came out with were a joke.

Some Asians pay without a quibble some don't just like some whites and blacks...

Social integration classes are free

If you was to get flashed by speeding camera, or get parking ticket, it use to go back to the last registered owner regardless if it was registered in trade, maybe it's changed now. It happened to me, had to write so many letters.

In London they have cars driving up and down all day with a anpr cameras searching for cars with no tax, you'd be surprised the amount of cars I see clamped with no tax.

Regarding the insurance, are you sure you was even insured to drive it. I know my insurance would be invalidated if I drove one of my stock cars for private use regardless of emergency. When I add a car I have to pick trade or private, if Its my own private car it has to be registered in my name. So double check.

I'll definitely just register the car in your name, just in case, as they are aware of the car now or try sell ASAP.

    Cheers for that.

To close the grey area off they go on the insurance database thesedays as that is a little more accurate so to speak as that is the bigger fine people will most likely have the car insurance. Essentially all 3 databases can be checked if the police want to; ownership, insurance and road tax.

No I had already checked with the insurance at the time of taking the policy out. It was on my list of many questions when I took the policy out and I ensured that I wasn't speaking to an apprentice!

Fussy pillocks (usually VAG men), crawling all over a £2000 car like it's a new Veyron. On their hands & knees at every corner looking down the sides for any dimples etc.

I find this funny at auctions when people dressed like they roll in money checking out the £20k+ cars and leaning on them.... and they bid on all the sub £1k junk...inspecting it with a magnifying glass

Just so that I understand correctly:

You know you were in the wrong but want it to be ignored because you had 'special circumstances' and the rules shouldn't be applied to you because you don't want them to. In fact, you'd prefer it if the previous keeper of the car (that you own and drove) took the wrap on your behalf. It's a blessing you weren't involved in an accident - that would really have got messy.

Sadly, it's reality check time. You aren't going to be getting a huge amount of sympathy any time soon. Sorry.

Where did I say in any one of my posts that the rules shouldn't apply to me? Please do point it out.

Either you fail to grasp the English language or you are visually impaired. If the latter you shouldn't be driving.

Again, at no point I mentioned the previous keeper should take the rap. I have already stated the DVLA wrote to me directly, so to speak their records are up to date and nothing has gone back on the previous owner.

It would help if you read and digest the facts before you dish out the assumptions. Perhaps I should come round and pin the bloody death certificate on your forehead...

I really wonder if you're honest with your HMRC Taxes, those that point out the blame on others usually have a dark and dirty past themselves... how's that for an assumption?

To sum it up for you, because you had a raging hardon, what I asked was " Are they looking to prosecute?"

In future speak to others how you want to be spoken to.

As above pay up. You picked the wrong place to drive an untaxed car. There are ANPR cameras from many agencies on major routes into London, that explains why you weren't clamped. If you're lucky they'll just make you pay a years tax, but if they find out you're trade you're likely to get a fine and they can fine you heavily.

I already setup the direct debit on the road tax.

When i rang up i was told i would need to register the car in my name... and have private insurance not traders.

    Seriously they know how

do you understand the consequences of what this sentence means

can i also ask why you consider it reasonable to drive a stock in trade car without considering the previous owner and the grief they might get

As i stated it was a one off family emergency in the middle of the night. These things do happen and the last thing on anyones mind at a time like this is road tax. I sold my vehicle on Saturday evening. So had absolutely no time in between.

To answer your point about grief. I can evidently say they got none as the dvla wrote to me.... we all learn something new everyday eh?

Seriously they know how to make life hard. Add an owner on the car so you can drive it and that makes punters weary. Am not saying what i did was right but some times a bit of common sense is needed!

That's the thing I got a caught on a little quiet road in the woods. The controlled parking didn't kick in till 11am and on the letter the time was 0901am. So am guessing it wasn't a traffic warden i dont know if they do road tax checks..

When you tax a car mid month it backdates it to the start of the month... yet they may prosecute for no tax before that? And i only had since start of July!

Utter bollocks! It'll be at least 20+ years before they abolish this backdate to start of month tax system and lose the remainder months tax.

  15. I had to visit London on a family emergency last week on Sunday night and because I had sold my own car I took a stock car.

The next morning (Monday) I found a yellow "untaxed vehicle" sticker under my wiper but without a clamp...the sticker further said a report has been sent to the DVLA for enforcement action. I taxed it straightaway on the same day I got the yellow sticker.

Today I receive a letter from the DVLA (dated Tuesday) under Sections 29 and 46 of the Excise and Registration Act 1994 - asking for details of the owner / driver.

Originally I thought it was a prank, you only see the yellow stickers when you have been clamped.

    Are they looking to prosecute?

Any advice in these tough times will be appreciated.... :P

I've done well lately with petrol anything, mostly down to the diesel scaremongering. In fact the more ridiculous (£500 tax 12MPG) it is the better.

As for petrol Audis...I have a similar sounding 61 plate A3 1.8T with 75k so we can have a little competition as to whose goes first!

Always done well with sub 8k A3s and the petrol engine makes this one book cheaply for a 61 plate IMO...add to that some people swearing they'll never buy diesel again and it's gotta be winner winner chicken dinner....surely?

Yes that's what I would have thought. But guess as usual people dont care how much tax they might have to pay for having a diesel or they will shit themselves when it all kicks in....

Yes it was very cheap in the hall but I am not selling it at forecourt price.... it's far less!

  17. It is my second experience with a petrol Audi and it also appears to be a hard seller.

    The first was a 2005 A4, 2.0l Quattro with 98k miles - took a £400 loss.

The current is an 2009 A3 sportback 1.8T, 90k with service history - no calls as of yet....

It's like no one wants them / they hate them!

    Have others had similar experiences?

  18. I would have insisted it's the insurance policy rules that the policy holder / garage has to see the driving licence for under 25s / 21s (or say no age and say everyone if you dont like the look of an older bloke!)

Always shift it back on the insurance company and bring the bobbies in to it and say "if we get stopped..."

That way no one can be arsey with you. If they insist they have one but not got it with them then just emphasise the rules...

At the end of the day, if spotty Joe hit the car and didnt have a licence, then you would be left in the deep end... and there probably is some small print in the insurance that says the driver should have a licence and liability to check this licence will fall on to the policyholder...
