  1. I disagree i dont think it is unusual to stock 1 or 2 more expensive cars however you need to know they are the right cars.

Twerp all premium plus come with pan roof, upgraded stereo, memory seats etc as standard.

Grant you should be ok with this if you keep it around 22k

  2. Thanks for all the advice , our stock is predominately between 3-7 years old ranging in price from £2500-£12000.

I understand that what works for one person doesn't always work for another but what percentage of leads come from AT compared to other sources?

As some have said it's all about ROI rather than the actual monthly costs.

  3. It is more than I was hoping for to be honest , but the way they put it is "we know it works so that's why we can charge that amount and don't need to offer incentives unlike others" .

£670 per month is a lot for a start up business to swallow but as you know we wont be in business long unless we sell cars consistently.

  4. Evening all, after finally getting to speak to the new business team at AT they have offered me a "deal" of £440+ vat for a 6 car package + 3 free car adverts per month.

With an additional £119 + vat for a AT powered website.

Although it is a significant cost is it value for money? As we have tried Facebook ,ebay, gumtree, motors etc with only limited success. We always have well written adverts with good pictures and reasonabley priced stock.

I know there is a strong anti AT feeling on here but is it the only platform that constantly delivers leads?

    Many thanks.

  5. Thanks betginge for your response, We have bought some stock from manheim s  and advertised it on AT etc . I were really enquiring as to whether home traders find there is a ceiling on what price people are willing to spend without the comforts of a showroom. Do first time buyer type cars sell from home or do these customers rely on finance ? I were trying to get some advice as to which type of stock would sell more readily from a home environment.

Daylight to answer your questions, I run a number of businesses outside the motor industry but have always been interested in getting into the motor trade. My business partner has been in the motor trade for many years at different levels but has no experience from trading from home . We are fully aware of our legal/ financial obligations and do not want to make a quick buck but want to make a long term success of this business. We are looking for suitable premises at the moment but I am sure you understand it is difficult to find them in the right location at a reasonable rate.

  6. Hi all ,

I have recently set up an car sales business and have recently registered with all the dealer pix sites but are these the best places to get good quality fairly priced stock from ?

Where do you get stock from?

ps I am trying to do this correctly , and have registered with companies house, trade insurance  etc etc and I am starting to wonder if genuine dealers can actually make a good living from this ?

    Many thanks in advance.
