andymc1973 199 Posted September 14, 2019 Guys, a chap has bought this from me unseen and is due to collect next week, anyhow the heaters are blowing hot on the drivers side and cold on the passenger (both should be cold), are these known for this? A quick google pointed to blend doors behind the vents, anyone come across this before? thanks Andy i can post a naked lady if it helps as per facebook rules
J.T 39 Posted September 14, 2019 Just tell him it has the older style dual climate control, when he gets too hot he can swap and his wife can drive while he sits on the cold side.
Autolink100 34 Posted September 14, 2019 Common problem on the older Grand Cherokees which come from the same company. The blend door spindles disintegrate with old age. There are a few people selling kits to repair these which involve cutting a hole on the side of the heater box and replacing the doors with a re designed version. Its not a bad job on the Jeep but no idea about the Journey, I'm sure there will be some stuff somewhere online about it.
andymc1973 199 Posted September 14, 2019 It’ll be finding the door blend spindles second hand that’ll be a ball ache
Autolink100 34 Posted September 14, 2019 Could also be an actuator which wouldn't be too bad to sort out
