If I were you, I'd ignore it because she's really reaching by coming back after 11 months. After six months It will be up to her to prove there was a problem with the vehicle when sold to her, after its been owned for longer than six months.

she'll have to provide evidence of this to establish the condition of the vehicle when sold to her - which is unlikely to be proven if she's done a lot of miles and only spotting the issue now.

Logic says it should, but I'm not sure this time, certainly no time soon.  Usually stock 20-25 in the £4-£8k bracket. Down to my last 7, haven't bought anything for a month.

wow i thought i was the only one! i thought i was going crazy!!! couldn't get new stock for over a month which seriously dented my pocket as i wasn't buying to sell. i guess it's better than not being able to sell. I usually stock 4-6 and im down to 1.

We don't buy from BCA walked away around ten years ago when they introduced online handlers trying to deal us on undisclosed damages, increased fees and webuyanycar. So far we have survived and indeed prospered. Venture capital vampires only wish to dominate the market and suck the life out of independents and indeed the motor trade in general. Apparently BCA have bought an airfield to fill with cars for Cinch, control the market is there mission me thinks. Stop buying from them would be a start however, the motor trades biggest failing is that we don't stick together and when stock is so short how many would have the balls to walk away from BCA?

I like your mindset. if you have any ideas shoot me a message

  3. I thought I was the only one experiencing the issues with Colchester. I couldn’t buy anything for over a month for the same reason that you mentioned, then I finally found something worth buying. Which was a 2009 black Astra that had passed with a mark of  39/39 on the assured check.  When I got there to pick it up, it had an ABS light on! Bs right?! So I called up sure check and they accepted fault and refunded me. Ever since then, all I’ve been seeing is junk. I refuse to purchase anything that isn’t sure checked, because it’s really not worth being stung in the arse with a vehicle that should’ve really gone to COPART!

I find that Leeds has the BEST stock! It’s just far. I think mainly because the stuff comes from Arnold Clark who is reputable in my eyes. Plus, each vehicle that I’ve purchased from there have  been valeted, so saving me JOB! I’ve ordered something from Birmingham which is coming later today, so we’ll see how that one goes.

There are plenty more to choose from Kayah.

Who are you using at the moment?

Im not currently using any, I’m in two minds of what partner to choose. I just want the best warranty that will do right by my customer.

Interesting subject for us newbies. :D

Kayah - I hope you don’t mind but I have a related question that maybe the resident guru’s could help with. What is the rough cost for a three or six month uninsured warranty?(assuming obtaining FCA approval so that insured products can be offered maybe a challenge newbies don’t want to tackle in fir# year) I appreciate it will be different for different cars/risks so maybe thinking of something like a Citroen C1 and a mid-range 3 series as examples.

Hey, I’m a newbie too and I’ve been trading for a little over a year now. I’m also interested in finding an answer to what you have asked. I’m not well versed on FCA, I’d actually like to understand it more. I’m looking to start offering finance as well and I don’t know where to start.

  5. Hello everyone.

i am currently in thr process of comparing Warranty companies. Out of experience what warranty companies do you prefer? Also, what company is better and why: warranty wise or warranty assist?
