NacMan 67 Posted September 12, 2020 Anyone noticed cars being marked as sold and going back through a day or two after or going straight onto buy it now? I smell some bidding up
Mojo121 229 Posted September 13, 2020 Yes, it happens. Vendors need certain amounts back for cars... what can you do? Best thing to do is only pay your maximum and if it keeps going don’t get emotional - it’s not meant to be. Plenty more fish in the sea.
Casper 272 Posted September 13, 2020 Nothing new really been happening at most auctions for years ..
Lakeside 94 Posted September 13, 2020 Yea happening a lot, But as said it always has, I’ve noticed on pricey days they expect to get top money for everything including grade 5’s. Same cars selling a week later for under cap below. If they’ve had a profitable day not sure why they won’t just let lower grade stuff sell cheaper rather than dragging it out. trade vet 701 Posted September 13, 2020 Blast from the distant past. There is always a chance that a ‘ sharp ‘ auctioneer in cahoots with a trader might be operating the old.’ bounce out’ ruse. That is when stuff with a lower reserve gets quickly ‘trotted up ‘ and bounced through unsold. It is then flogged after the sale for ‘ reserve ‘ which keeps the vendor happy. The car is then re entered and gets sold for proper money..........surely not !
